Re: My econo-e-bike

Yes, they are small. Next time you do a Grin order have them throw in a thermistor for $3. I ordered one the first time it's on a wire then later one to solider to the existing wire.

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

The data shows the biggest return is FF (FeroFluid). It does most of the cooling. You could open the motor up with vents, you let all in. FF needs to topped off when low. The min in this motor is 4.5 ml some put a lot more. That causes drag, I run 5 ml and it needs to be refilled, don't run my motor...

Re: My econo-e-bike

Lacing should not be hard for you. Pictures can be wrong. looks like the spoke holes are offset! If you want to be safe, wait until you get the rim then measure it and use Grin spoke calculator. Learned the first time ordered spokes and they were to short. Not all 24", 26" rims use the sam...

Re: P14 Current Limit Setting

Longevity of the battery is what some or most of us think about. It's 50% or higher total cost of the total build with a little care you can get years out of it. Abusing it can cut the life down to 1 yr or 6 months. Seems like your riding within you bikes abilities. High powered burst are not bad to...

Was thinking about current not the sudden stop at 47mph. To me it is setup to fast. need a smaller wheel, more turns in the motor or lower voltage.

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

When I order from Grin, sometimes have them throw in a few bits as shipping is so high. Over the years have a couple of wires with the 10K NTC Thermistor connected and a Bare 10K NTC Thermistor. Don't think they sell the ones connected to the wires any more but the Bare 10K NTC is only $3 but shippi...

Re: P14 Current Limit Setting

The best way is to monitor the heat of the motor, controller and wires. While it not bad to use a lot of power for a few seconds to get up to speed. Pull hills or riding into the wind at speeds higher than your setup can handle is bad. I would start with your battery. First if it has a 50a BMS then ...

Re: C Cab Hot Rod Power Advice

In the age of electronics, most things like radios with presets or memory they need some power when everything is off to keep the settings. This is the ghost draw we see on electronics. Clocks, alarms, keyless entry and ignition. If you don't plan on any of these things then don't worry.

Great design, the only loading would be from the weight on the rear wheel. Like race cars as they launch all the weight goes to the rear.

At least we have something to talk about. Remember when autos came out, they would never replace the horse. Want to see a waste of power and heat. Take a good look at Automobiles. Clearly people don't really have an issue with wasting a few watts.

Did not try to suggest that non programable controllers would have wireless. If it came across that way then apologize for the confusion. We are talking about high end features that are not provided with most common controllers. by amberwolf » Nov 26 2021 1:16am ZeroEm wrote: ↑Nov 25 2021 10:52am Co...

Re: What can a Grin controller + cycle analyst do that KT controllers + KT display can't do?

Controllers now can be configured by your phone (wireless) so a display is not needed. I find most display's limited, they do the basic functions. CA gives me a lot of options on how i'm using power. Have two controls connected to it. Can change what they do and have it at my finger tips as I ride. ...
