Re: Recommendation wanted kick scooter or escooter for someone with ALS

My wife is correct. I’m too weak, to ride a push scooter!

Now I’m planning to buy an electric trike. I’m hoping that someone here will be able to recommend a good alternative. An very important factor is excellent low speed throttle control.

Thanks!

Re: New Tesla battery connection patent

It’s a strange link. An extract from a pdf. It worked on my iPad. Replaced it with a link to the page and the downloaded image on my gdrive. If neither of those work for you let me know.

Maybe part of the problem is that it’s a 13 just npage image, which I just noticed .

New Tesla battery connection patent

Looks like they are using plates with tabs instead of welding. If they start using these in production it should be possible to either use the parts or copy them to replace welding on diy packs. Re: Recommendation wanted kick scooter or escooter for someone with ALS

I bought a Mongoose EXpo for $53.

My wife thinks my balance isn’t good enough to ride it.

I think that I might not be strong enough to push it, in that case I’m planning to buy an electric scooter.

recommendation wanted electric trike for someone with ALS

Hi, I have ALS and I need something to get from my car to a swimming pool I have the symptoms of ALS. I need to be able to use a pool therapeutically 3-6 days per week. Meir pointed out that I walked backwards in your pool as well as I did in his office six years ago. He thinks that within three mon...

Re: Taycan video with some useful information

We are getting to the point were the real limitations for acceleration is going to be suspension setup and tire compound. How much anti-squat is built into the suspension and how 'sticky' the tires are. Drag cars are setup with enough anti-squat that they actually raise up in the rear under acceler...

Re: Tesla switches to permanent magnet reluctance motors and sees range gains

PM motors at full load can achieve ~97% when everything is done perfectly. When cruising at a light load, they might be <~90% SRPM motors can achieve ~97% when everything is done right at full load, but then also cruise at light loads with minimal efficiency hit. Why you don't want one for an ebike...

Thanks for the link? Took me a while to check it because I thought that you were criticizing Luke.

Re: Switched reluctance motors

Economics is important. And consider the range increase they got on the new MS-MX. I thought that power per size and weight would be considered important here. As for Tesla using small form factor cells they’ve learned to make packs at a very low additional, cost. We’ll see what they announce or batt...

Switched reluctance motors

I’d love to get a better understanding of the implications of this motor. Elon said that it is switched reluctance motor. There are some controversy over that statement. How important is this? https://cleantechnica.com/2018/03/11/tesla-model-3-motor-in-depth/ ...". You would examine all the differen...

Legit electric motor technology breakthrough?

https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/linear-labs-electric-turbine-motor/ there were a motor that didn't need to spin as fast as that to make enough usable power and torque to drive a vehicle? If that existed, you could change all kinds of things about electric car design. If you didn't need a gearbox...
