Re: Bayliner Conversion

thats why grin technologies rewired their motor from wye to delta to go from 10rpm/v to 20rpm/v and jumped up to 72v 17s/60v with a 4040ta in delta is 19rpm= 1140rpm 4500watts for burst but to cruise ill only need 2000 to 3000 watts and to troll probably 600 watts, might be able to just heat sink th...

from that article 1hp gas/diesel can push 500lbs electric can push 3x the weight 1hp elecric=750 watt can push 1500lbs 5hp electric/4500watt can push 7500lbs with a 6kw motor, 48v/50amps/2000watts they push 13500lbs at 4.7knot speed i look at nm for prop , right now the only thing i can do is try th...

Re: Winding Question: does STAR make more torque than DELTA, even with adjusted phase current?

How do you measure the torque? Butt measurement, defined slope riding or acceleration times or.. At 200A in STAR the bike did lift the front wheel, while at 420A in DELTA it does not (all other settings equal). There should be exactly the same torque output with adjusted current and the kV should s...

Re: Bayliner Conversion

theres a difference, i just dont know what it is wye and delta provide same power but its different voltage and amps to get there is it more efficient to go slow in wye like when trolling do you get triple the nm of torque in delta if it triples the nm torque i can use the 4040 TA from grin i look a...

Re: Battery switched on or off during charging?

my ca shows 0.4v lower than my dmm, i figured that 0.4v was because my system was on, kind of like volt sag. youre charger/bms seems to be sensing what your system is using while turned on then pumping amps into the bms to be burned off? id leave it turned off while charging otherwise you might over...

Re: Bayliner Conversion

I saw the video of electric bike you posted but I don’t think the boat propeller will unload that much as the boat speed up from 3 to 6 knots... Tai on fishing boats they put "trolling valves" on the transmission to reduce pressure and lower the temperature https://www.sbmar.com/articles/marine-tra...

Re: Battery Design advice sought

150ah would be 2C/7amps

21s, 63volts x 150amps= 9kw motor

are you going to use cell holders to keep an air gap around the cells and then insulate it to maintain a balanced pack temperature?

dont think theres any issue, do the math for amp draw put a fuse in between the two packs, hit it with some amps and see when fuse blows, i did it with different resistance cells and have used daily in my trike https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=104027&p=1556192&hilit=marin#p15274...

I am in the process to convert a sailboat with similar size of yours: 26’ with 8’ beam. Here is some random thoughts as suggestion: I couldn’t find the displacement of your boat, let use mine instead: 4600lbs. The hull speed is around: 7knots. The rule of thumb for the electric power needed is 1500...

a 20x1.5 you feel every pebble and crack in the road, a 20x2.35 you dont, a 24x3.0 gives you 26od add a spring seat and its a nice soft ride on a hard tail if yours ass is over the tire one of the first things i did was get rid of the tiny tire on my trike https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic...

im looking at your m4040 r ta https://ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/motors/m4040r-ta.html do you know what nm you get at 1140 rpm if you do the delta wye switch with relays "on the fly" like in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm9STU4sIKE this shows the switch on the fly https://w...

Re: How practical is 72v (or 60v) for a street legal direct drive set-up meant for climbing and sub 28 mph speed?

Learn something everyday never thought of that. So to lose less rpm as possible use low volts and high turn counts Down side little current handling and the speed is gonna be crawling so efficiency will suffer. Think between you all its answered here That's not at all what MadRhino is saying. He's ...

i was going to say the same thing, a cheap ass 48v/ 20amp controller/3525 plus a hill and he will be walking home, he wont be pedalling it phaserunner, 20to60 amps, 36vto72v. get a battery that handle the amps. and if you dont like the 3525 , get the 3540 atleast the phaserunner is programmable, rel...

a phaserunner and then you can set watts or amps or any volt you want. i use it at 17s 3500 watts on a 3540 if i want or at 2500watts or change the lvc and put on a 13s battery or use at 17s and 2200 watts in my mxus xf40 in a 20 inch wheel on my trike with a topspeed of 75km/h down a hill or haul a...
