Re: 12v charging for 48v battery?

Planning on using vehicle power only when the engine is running. Mainly so I can recharge it while I am driving to next destination. So, if I get this right. 1. Stop charging when battery voltage reaches 53v, at most 54v. 2. Set max amperage through boost converter at 12a or less, 3a would work well...

Re: 12v charging for 48v battery?

Link to battery seller listing, data sheet if possible. Ideally you know whether 13S or 14S, and what cells were used. A. Battery. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NSW5XCV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Do you care enough about longevity to get a DMM & ammeter and learn how to...

12v charging for 48v battery?

I have two options, first is a 400w inverter powering the charger the second is wiring a 12v boost converter (I can crank it up as far 60v) and charging it from that. Is the boost converter a legitimate option? If yes what voltage and amperage should it be set at? Battery is a UPP 48v 20ah. Oops, it...

Just ordered a cyclone, where to find Isis crank arms for it.

With the Isis BB. It appears they do not have the Isis cranks available though. Can I get these elsewhere? Can I use my current BB with square taper until they reappear in stock? Am I doomed to wait? Any other options available??
Thanks.

Re: How much can a motor draw?

If I understand this correctly the controller determines the current used, not the motor. If this is true how does the controller know when to lower the current? Is it a set rpm? ETA; my battery is listed as 1k watt or less motor. I have no idea what the actual limit is. I assume the max output of t...

How much can a motor draw?

I recently built my first ebike from a kit. The motor (Voilamart 1k rear hub kit) is listed as 1k watts on high and 750 on low. I installed a power monitor (Volts, Amps, Watts. WH). Watching the numbers as I ride I have seen readings over 1.2k watts while riding, even on the low power setting it sur...

Re: Amazing! Why did it take me this long

Very close to mine. 93 Trek 950 (craigslist, 80 bucks) 1k Voilamart rear hub kit with a 48v 20AH Joyisi rack battery. Only had it up and running for a couple weeks now but it is showing a lot of promise.
