Re: The Ebiker Joke thread...

Oh oh... It's time for a nasty ebiker joke... Currently in town, on Nathan Philips Square, right outside Toronto's City Hall, the art of Ai Weiwei... by one account "one of China's foremost contemporary artists". There are plenty of pics online about his art exhibit, but the sign I saw today said th...

Re: How to Solar Charge an Electric Bicycle

Sorry ddk... It was a question for "tomtom123" from NYC actually, but yours is still "useful" info anyway. In my little burg currently businesses "paying the full rate" (disc's "kick in" for "off peak times") pay 7.8 ¢/kWh, if I understand correctly, so yer dollar would cover about 12.82 kWh. Canadi...

Re: How to Solar Charge an Electric Bicycle

Watt are the "size" (and number of) your PV panels? And how many hours of daylight do you have... And can the panels be oriented to face and follow the sun?

Re: How to Solar Charge an Electric Bicycle

Hi ddk! You said: I proved to myself that at least 300W of panel is needed to actually power a bike (trike) Hence the idea of LOTS of panels which are a shared "public utility"... And you said: during the 5 or so hours of the day (guud) sunlight is available. In my burg in southern Ontario, Canada, ...

Well... Did show up (at 5min after to appointed time) for the fellow to have a look again, and maybe to fix (hopefully) my trike (frame)... I though it might be an easy/quick fix (weld, etc) job, and I disassembled the trike for him (unbolted and removed the back basket) and this is watt we found/sa...

Re: How to Solar Charge an Electric Bicycle

Hey ddk... BTW re electric slot cars... Our TERA Prez mentioned yesterday a "big problem" with hooking up to an (low voltage) electric rail... No passing! And I gotta admit, that is true. But hey, not much different than today, with our "bumper-to-bumper" traffic, in watt used to be termed a "rush h...

Hiya ddk! So, quick question for you please? Have ya EVer seen or played with an electric slot car toy? EVer though it might be nice to take at least some of your trips hooked up to a rail, with power at least some of the time, from PV solar panels? Mounted on canopies that might keep off some of th...

But she insists I need a thing called a "business plan". I am more used to...
