Re: BH Neo emotion torque sensor issues

Torque sensors are generally NOT interchangeable, and that is with the most common type, mounted in the bottom bracket, which you do not have. Check the output voltages as suggested. Whether it will take a standard cadence sensor will depend on the controller, and whether you can change to a standar...

Re: STC-8116LD charger - 90% cutoff?

Don't know, and the company website does not list that charger, or any charger corresponding to the picture shown for that unit, I suppose I could look up info on the company who sold it to you, but I have no idea who that might be and the crystal ball is in the shop today.

Re: Tool battery (Makita) mounts for ebikes

The concept has always interested me. I have seen single-unit mounts, with no bike attachment, for around $15.00 each for a couple of brands. A generic unit with solid mounts which could be customized for different brands might be something to explore. I happened to be looking hard at Milwaukee unit...

Well then at least one of you should have a manual.

You could start by detailing the connections and components involved in connecting your real wheel, as I don't have a manual and cannot see your bike from here.

I was going to suggest that you describe your equipment in some detail, and also exactly what you are trying to do, but Amber has you covered. Note that he would have to make fewer guesses if you had supplied more information.

Re: Cheap and reliable Anti-theft electronics ?

I have seen several commercial products which do this, check with your cell phone company they may have one and you will need an account, with GPS, for the device anyway. One major problem with bikes in such cases is proving that the property actually belongs to you, I have thought of engraving my d...

OH, you have messed up and made 4 copies of the same post in different places, very annoying, makes work for mods, not good.

Re: Rule of thumbs for BMS

It does not generally seem to be much of a concern, but, like a lot of things, it depends. If you are surging large amounts of wattage thru, both battery and BMS might require at least some cooling airflow. Controller is much more of an issue, as is not letting any water into battery enclosure or wi...

Didn't really think about the brand of motor but the custom firmware available may very well make it something you can adjust.

Re: Charger turned back on after over 36 hours of trickle charging

Chargers are variable enough that to call that a good sign is only a solid "maybe". Charging a battery for 36 hours, after the performance you described, coupled with the circumstances of purchase, added to the lack of testing, should DEFINITELY be done in a fire-safe area. I will make a wild guess ...

How about a detailed, clear, close-up picture of the connector that is actually on your bike, the one you have, the one you want to put a second battery on, and match THAT, rather than what some other person, with a different bike, that you do not have, thinks it should be? Yes, there have been several cases of this happening. Would not call it common, but it in not unknown. Re: 48 v controller on a 36 V TSDZ2 motor?

No reason to believe that the new controller is the solution to your problem, the behavior you seem to be describing is common to nearly all controllers, regardless of voltage. If you can already run the 48V battery, then you don't really need a 48V controller to handle the voltage. If you want diff...

When you say it has "no power", are you pushing it down the driveway to get 5 mph? Or, is it powering itself, but only making 5 mph under battery power? What was it able to do before replacing the tires? Most likely, it sat for a long time, battery has bad or low cells, needs balanced or bad cells r...

The comparison is between non-replaceable cells and replaceable, components you personally pick and verify or unknown parts, features you want and features you can find offered by someone else. The Vruzend kit is extremely limited in usability and function. The kit made by Agniusm is much better eng...

Which is a nice way of saying "If you don't know shit from Shinola, you should not be trying to polish your own shoes". I think he crashed on the wire side of the hub, the cord he is talking about is the input wires thru the axle of the hub motor, and these are the problem. I think the "test" he did...

This cover you removed, with the disconnected wire, on the actual battery but not the actual battery, when you did this thing that MADE THE PROBLEM GO AWAY, then you un-did whatever you did, and when you un-did it, THE PROBLEM RETURNED, How about you go into that in some detail? Interesting. I use the Slime patches, black on top, orange on the bottom, these work very well. Re: Fork issues, motor recommendations, and other newbie questions/issues

Speed and acceleration are the enemy of range. Wind resistance over 20mph becomes a major factor. Large, heavy, DD motor in a front fork is just a very bad idea. Front fork snaps off at speed serious injury is likely. 700C wheel is like putting motor into a high gear, all the time. Gain speed, lose ...

You seem to be in a hurry. That is not necessarily a bad thing, some people make good decisions when they are in a hurry. Re: e bike using more power then it should

It would be useful to know how old the bike is. Looking up YOUR BIKE, to attempt to determine factors like disk brakes and motor type, appears to be a rear hub, likely geared, but maybe direct drive. It would be useful to verify these things. Such as do you have regen braking? Verified no brake drag...
