Re: Stutter and now failure with Baserunner on a Bafang G062
Figured I'd follow up in case anyone ever finds this in search results: Never got it to run nicely. Here's a youtube of the issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk-iBkpY3Is I ended up making the call to pickup a cheap direct drive hub both to "fix" my issue and to not have a geared drive...

Re: Stutter and now failure with Baserunner on a Bafang G062
'Twas something gone horribly wrong in the baserunner (no idea what, really). Grin sent me a "level 3" recovery XML baseline for the controller and I've got wheel spin again. Still need to work out the stuttering on take off though.

Re: Stutter and now failure with Baserunner on a Bafang G062
Whelp, I'm fairly certain it's something with the baserunner... I hooked up a Grin GMAC 10T motor that I have on another bike (so no home-made adapter in the mix) and the motor has the exact same symptoms. I may try plugging into the Baserunner direct throttle control to eliminate the CA as the culp...

Indeed, all this did was make it spin backwards (which, naturally in a geared freewheel motor) does not do muchchuyskywalker wrote: ↑Jan 23 2022 2:49pmI can try (and have certainly needed to do this on more basic KT style controllers), but the base/phase runner auto detects phases and halls; it shouldn't need that.

Re: Stutter and now failure with Baserunner on a Bafang G062
Just to be sure, I did a quick test of hooking the motor back up to the previous controller and the motor still works just fine there, so I do no believe anything is amiss with the hardware on the dropouts. Motor continues to refuse to spin at all while in Hall or Hall+SensorlessFallback mode. If I ...

Stutter and now failure with Baserunner on a Bafang G062
Picked up a 52v hailong and baserunner to swap into my RadRunner+ bike. I believe the RR+ has a Bafang G062 motor, or a variant very close to that. I'm having a few issues in the setup: Speed Readings on the CA -- The CA3-WP (v3.14) does not show speed; yet when I am connected to the BR via USB the ...

Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
Whelp, I picked up a Pixel 3 so that I could monitor the phaserunner without lugging a laptop around (lol) and, yeah, the phaserunner itself is hitting 85-90 degrees when the power draw fades, way before the motor starts into it's overheat range. I took a look at some of the other threads around her...

Re: FLIPSKY new 20s 100A tiny controller (vesc based)
Detailed metr logs are posted here Nicely gathered. Seems like with a bit of active cooling it could hold that 50ish amps, you think? Quick side note from the other forum Feature wise it would be nice if field weakening only worked when a button was being held. I believe, if I recall correctly, tha...

Re: Phaserunner wireless or BT adapter
You can use your phone (android) and install Phaserunner suite for it. Also you need usb-otg adapter, but that's all. I have been used that program and it work nicely. And i think you can do it all things that you can do pc program also. ^ This. I just picked up a pixel3 for a few bucks to do just ...

Re: FLIPSKY new 20s 100A tiny controller (vesc based)
Hey party people, does anyone here know if this controller is able to run a led headlight? I have an led that can handle 12-72v. Or do i need any additional hardware to be able to run it, like a dedicated led controller? No, probably not. It does, technically, have a 5v / 1 amp -- but you'd burn th...

Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
Make sure you have a heat sink for the controller as well. Otherwise that will become your weakest electrical link in the drive system. Got that covered with a big 'ol chunk of aluminum bolted on to it, even sawed out some channels for "fins". 2021-04-03 15.56.08.jpg And it's mounted to t...

Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
Took it for a ride up a MONSTER of a hill and the DD45 couldn't keep up. Eventually the controller cut me off for thermal over-run at 90C.

Wish me luck -- I've just ordered a single lever, dual caliper hydraulic brake set from Alibaba.
Comes with a parking brake and electronic switch as well, which is pretty slick. they claim to be. We'll see!

Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
Cool project. How much would you charge to print me a copy of your Cycle analyst mount? Thanks -- I'll put it up on thiniverse if you'd like, but I'm not sure how long it's going to hold up, to be honest. It feels a bit thin, but I won't know till I've been using it a bit. Also, you're very likely ...

Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
I'll check that out the battery pin spreading option. Well well well, that worked exactly as suggested in terms of creating a better grip on the connector. Maybe I'll swap the GMAC back in at some point and see if that resolved the regen overcurrent error, but for now I'll keep the DD45 in for a bit.

simple fix is to flex the pins open a wee bit for a proper fit.also causes that error code, let me go find the quote from Grin Interesting, I'll check that out the battery pin spreading option. Re: KMX Tornado -- Recumbent Cruiser
every time I plugged in the XT90, it would spark -- which makes no sense as I have AS connectors on the plug. I had a bad connector, the resistor was blown. Go figure. I had thought safety common practice is to have the female connector on the battery side? That's absolutely correct... ...and not a single place makes a female flush/panel mount! Anywhere. No joke I've been staring at the old motor on the floor in my garage for over a year. Shoot me a DM and you can hav...
