Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

More test on the boost with v1.0.0 firmware and SW102: 1. I doubled the assistance factor for BOOST function at the level I normally use (Level 9) I think it works I little bit better from standstill. 2. With Field weakening "disable", there is no boost with both "always" or &quo...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Assist levels and their factors are not directly comparable between different bikes, especially if you haven't calibrated the torque sensor. Without calibration they depend on individual torque sensor readings which we know to differ wildly between motors. After calibration the gear ratio and wheel...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Hi, used the Tsdz2 with the osf adapted to xh18 for a year but wanted to swith to the full osf so ordered a sw102 display. This after checking the operation I opened up and flashed the bootloader, thereafter flashed it with the phone and the nrf app to the latest 1.0 casinho software. Thereafter fl...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I found this drive on aliexpress from the seller EUNORAU which seems to be a respectable one. They offer a TSDZ2 with a 850C display and multicable for brakes. https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32821670861.html Would this work? Finding the pinout one my own and contributing back to community would not...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

My motor has significant resistance when pedalling with the motor switched off and takes a lot of effort to maintain speed. If I want to try to fix it, where should I direct my attention? Clean and grease the main gear and the small gear driving it. The small gear is connected to the blue gear and ...

You found and fixed the bug in the boost logic? I read the code but I don't understand what could be wrong for now. I don't have enough time currently, maybe next two weeks I'll can investigate more as I'll be in holiday (but without testing as I won't have my bike with me). From ebike_app.c file i...

Does anyone here use their TSDZ2 for real mountain biking? With the new firmware I am having a problem where the motor cuts out when you need it most. Like for instance I was doing an uphill switchback, and right on the power stroke on the corner the motor doesn't engage and I fell over down the hi...

The linear curve instead of logarithmic make assist very weak at the low cadence and I have to press even harder on the pedals to make my bike moving after the stop. I also experienced an uneven assistance while rotating a pedal, like if I had a oval chain-ring. I think this comes from the fact tha...

Casainho, it seems to me from testing today that the logic behind the start boost enable/disable when using an sw102 display is inverted. I get great start boost and motor power comes in within half a pedal rotation when I set the feature to disabled. It seems that changes to the duration and fade ...

I haven't tried the torque sensor only but I agree with you. So just to summary, the only thing I can see to improve the actual BOOST function is to allow the user to specify a different and higher BOOST current ramp than the typical. 8amps/s could not be enough for startup and enough for regular p...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I implemented that torque sensor threshold and will be available on next version. But this threshold is probably useful to bring safety when cadence sensor will be disabled because (like broken cadence sensor that happened to me once) depending on torque sensor only can be dangerous. I haven't trie...
