Thanks @casainho ! Did you manage to solve the most obvious issues for that 1.0 release ? * auto power off not working (just found my battery completely depleted this morning) * SW102 lockup issues in configuration mode - calibration impossible * power cut-offs on bumps with default configuration. ...

The display freezes every time I scroll down the torque sensor menu. The last thing I can see is "pedal grou left", I am able to c...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

The linear curve instead of logarithmic make assist very weak at the low cadence and I have to press even harder on the pedals to make my bike moving after the stop. I also experienced an uneven assistance while rotating a pedal, like if I had a oval chain-ring. I think this comes from the fact tha...

i did a test ride yesterday with street mode on with a limit of 25km/h (and power limit 1000W). i noticed that i still get like 200W support when around 26/27 km/h and going uphill and i can hear the motor working. bug or feature? :) i did not yet take a close look on the motors firmware. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Casainho, it seems to me from testing today that the logic behind the start boost enable/disable when using an sw102 display is inverted. I get great start boost and motor power comes in within half a pedal rotation when I set the feature to disabled. It seems that changes to the duration and fade ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I haven't tried the torque sensor only but I agree with you. So just to summary, the only thing I can see to improve the actual BOOST function is to allow the user to specify a different and higher BOOST current ramp than the typical. 8amps/s could not be enough for startup and enough for regular p...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I implemented that torque sensor threshold and will be available on next version. But this threshold is probably useful to bring safety when cadence sensor will be disabled because (like broken cadence sensor that happened to me once) depending on torque sensor only can be dangerous. I haven't trie...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

User can keep some pressure on the pedals and release brake sensors, can't be faster like this!! Never tried it because I don't have the brake sensors. It is an option. Or the startup assist without pedal rotation with a torque threshold as was implemented on V0.20 to avoid the use of brake sensors...

2. What means start assist of 20%? 20% of what?? There are feedback from users of cargo bikes that like the BOOST at startup. Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Why not calling this function STANDUP and instead of a configurable duration, you turn if off when the bike reaches 6km/h (or configurable speed) that way it will always behave the same way if you use it in a climb, a downhill or a flat road. Thanks Casainho for taking a look at this. 1. duration: ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

So the concept is that the red light situation, the boost should be a function of the time only and the acceleration ramp and independent of the torque value. If I understand correctly, the BOOST would be: 1. duration: configurable fixed amount of time like 1 second 2. power: configurable and fixed...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

The actual boost function does not help for red light start because it takes too long to kick in, even with the 8amp/s current ramp. However, the start acceleration from zero speed was solved in Marcoq code using a function call "K soft start". His idea was to smooth the motor acceleration using a ...

Note that this fork has the current ramp set to 3* the defined value in the display configuration so it can destroy your blue gear. However it totally rips out on the road - it has very different p...

What I don’t like about the first option is that one connector will remain unused/disconnected I don’t know if this coul...

Great job Casainho!!! Just finished my test ride of the 1.0.0.Alpha4 with SW102. Noticed higher power than V0.20 with which I never reached 450watts. Everything worked fine including the lights. My only observation is for the boost configuration. I expected a multiplier factor per level, not the 0.0...

Nice work!
Just to confirm: is it "Enter configurations screen: ON/OFF and UP and DOWN, long press", the three buttons at the same time? UP/DOWN buttons of my SW102 are not very reliable after opening the case.
