Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

On the website I found the same case size and I found it very strange, but it must have been an error then. Interesting maybe it's an abs kinda thing under braking when there's a larger bump the wheel tends to lock when its unloaded for a moment. Maybe it senses the wheel lock and doesnt like it so ...

Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

Yeah I checked the dimensions the 200 and 150 have the same case the 200 is even a bit lighter something is fishy. I guess they both have 24Fets then. Maybe the 200 uses better fets that's why it's more expensive. I wonder tho whether the 200 is even available it is not sold on ali as standalone it ...

Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

Thanks The 300 is out of production. And it seems the 200 is unreliable. I saw your comment on the 200 thread that you run the 150 at 300bA. How is it working? Does the regen work properly? Did you have any issues with it? For how many miles have you been using it? What's the difference between the ...

Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

Yeah I already figured how it works. Kelly specifies motor current while the votol and sabvoton specifies both motor and battery current. I am sure I am not gonna buy the em150 now that's waay to weak. (I almost ordered it how lucky that I didnt.) The minimum is the em200 that does 250A boost. But I...

Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

Ahhhh I see now. That's very bad news tho. I have a greyborg ebike now with a 15 Fet budget greentime controller and it is shunted to around 110 amps it gives 110 amps in the beginning and tapers off to around 30 amps at the 70kph top speed on flat. And on steep climbs it is happy to give 80-70 amp ...

Re: Votol vs Sabvoton

Thank you.

So it means that when I fully pin the throttle with say the 72150 sabvoton there will be 350Amps flowing for a short period for the acceleration phase and it will slowly taper off to around 100Amps continuous.

Re: Liitokala 100ah lifepo

There are vids on yt of 100Ah chinese lifepos at less than two kilos each. There has been improvement. The guy was also sceptical before testing but hey capacity tester aint no liar. Then again I guess the price was the internal res for the energy density. So maybe they aren't best for high power au...

Votol vs Sabvoton

I am building an aprilia rs50 conversion and perfectly clueless as to what controller to buy. Svmc 72150, em150 and em 200 are the candidates. I have no idea what this rated current, boost current, peak phase current and phase current protection means. I mean the kellys are at least straightforward ...

Re: Liitokala 100ah lifepo

The chemistry is great, **much** longer lifespan, just lower energy density. No problem with those C-rates. Just that brand does not have a great reputation. Well it has improved energy density 160 wh/ kg which is li-ion territory only it has dismal internal resistance. I have headways and 3 pieces...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Yes I am sure, it's the 15 fet with "regen". I can see the minus current on the screen so it definitely has regen, but it's very inefficient by my rough estimation it's around 40-50% efficient the max current is like 12 Amps while the braking power exceeds well over 30 Amps by feel, it's very strong...

I am also before buying the 90H 4000w qs with the votol controller for my aprilia rs50 conversion. I am vacillating between the 200sp and the 150sp. I cant quite interpret what the peak phase current the boost current and rated current mean. Can someone enlighten me as to what the real world numbers...

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Can someone tell me if the votol 72150 has an efficient regen? I have some bad experiences with the greentime controllers cause maybe 50% of the braking energy goes into the battery and the rest heats the motor like crazy. I definitely dont want another controller with bad regen. Thanks for the help.

Re: Votol EM-100 & EM-150 controllers

Can anyone tell that the EM72150SP has motor overheat cutoff function? Does it also have overheat protection for itself? Yes, and you can see in the thread that the controller overheat function has been discussed a lot. Thanks Another question. Is its regen efficient? I ordered a budget greentime c...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

I have another question for balmorhea. I was thinking that maybe increasing the voltage and rewinding the motor with thinner wire has the advantage of a greater copper fill in a given slot structure. Say if I work with thinner wires then chances are that I will be able to tuck more copper into it th...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

Thanks for the info I thought that QS only made hub motors. However I have concerns with this one. Does it have internal fan? Cause if it doesnt then cooling will be problematic. And I dont trust the liquid cooled ones tbh. I think the best cooling for these motors is making a swiss cheese out of th...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

Yeah but what about the scenario I wrote? Two identical - hub - motors or doesnt even have to be a hub motor. One is a 36v the other is a 72v setup. The 36v is capable of going 40 kph with a certain wheel size at let's say 10 amps. Now the 72v in a half as large wheel is also going 40kph but it only...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

Sorry balmorhea is right in that rewinding the motor to more winds and upping the voltage would give any efficiency gains in the motor. So the original calculation was right! So I fully ammend myself to balmorhea. However spinning the motor faster by overvolting then gearing it down can give an effi...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

Yes I was thinking about something like this, some drawback from the high speed, one drawback I read is that there is some heat buildup due the higher rpm for all motors have a "drag" when spun unloaded and the higher the speed the more energy is needed per time unit to overcome the drag, but I dont...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

If P=U x I then in a given motor with a given winding the more the power comes from U the less I is needed and the less I the less heat. Voltage is basically heat free waste free power just as in the grid system or in a regular wire so as in the motor windings. (Of course if the motor over revs - to...

Re: 3kw goldenmotor overvolting

I still have concerns. Suppose I've got my aprilia with the GM in it. One is a 72v setup the other is a 144v setup the gear is setup in a way that both configurations have the same top speed. Say I am cursing at 50kph drawing 15 amps with the 72v battery. But with the 144v pack I can cruise at 50 kp...
