Re: Knight Electric Motorcycle 5000w
What an odd key location! Those fork tubes look super skinny, I wonder about the seat height? Maybe this bike is smaller than it looks? Honda Grom size? I too have been looking into the dual sport electric conversion. I'm thinking a KTM with blown motor or even a DRZ400 would make a good platform. I...

Re: Farfles Electric Ultralight.
Thanks for adding the pics and videos! That plane looks amazing! I love how you don't have fiddle with fuel air problems or warm it up for 15 minutes before taking flight.
And here comes the questions:
Why don't you add PV modules to the wings, you could have endless flight time!

Re: Capacity Mapping (Optimal Charge-Discharge Voltages)
I just received 2 packs and have not checked them out yet, I am putting them in a Sondors with a DOA Pack that originally came with similar cells (at least same capacity). First impression is good, just need to order some connectors to parallel the two packs Same seller also has some LG packs, I'm w...

Thanks for the reply Mr Diggler. Does the EMAD controller take 48v? Can you direct me to the exact remote you are referring to on ebay? EMAD 600 Watt Sidewalk Surfer Electric Skateboard NO REMOTE
Hey guys, I just picked up this board for $50 hoping the batteries were at least good, but the ol SLA's registered 0 volts. It also did not come with the controller but I knew that going into the deal. What can I say, it looked like a fun project! :P My plan for the batteries is a pair of ebay 18650...

Very old thread indeed!
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the geared hubs are only reliable at less than 2000 watts. Aussie Jester had a failure early on and abandoned the geared hub.

Sweet ride! Did you already have the bike, or did you buy it specifically for this drive?
Waiting for this vids... My friend did a custom mount for his GoPro off the rear axle, that would be cool to see on this bike off the right side.

I would check the Head tube size, it looks like 1" threaded, good luck finding any decent sus forks in that size.

Re: Dave's 80:1 RC mid drive kit build log
There are sensorless ebike controllers on the market, I think Kelly Controllers sells one. They are bulky, but more robust, IMO.
On the Astro motors issues, it would be nice to have another motor option for the bargain builders out.

Anybody else have an alternative to the elbow to elbow racing on kart tracks with other sometimes evenly matched opponents? No? Anybody? *subscribed Awesome build, hats off to you man! I hope we never see any crash testing on this design, but it looks very strong! I've been thinking about using an unfinished airplane fuselage as a velomobile, your body reminds me of wood airplane construction. Loving the solid milled aluminum too. Wh...

I still think an organized racing series aimed at kids is the best promotion. You get teachers parents and kids involved, and there is a goal. Start out with go carts for early ages and work up to dirtbikes and ebikes for older aged kids.

Re: Electric Paraglider + Electric Hanglider
The GreenWing e-Spyder by Yuneec is pretty clean looking. It's gonna cost about $40k, which is on the pricey end in my opinion. I would like to see this converted into a "Last Mile" machine where the flying surfaces mounted on that beam can be taken off and a medium duty hub motor in the f...

Re: Jet Industries Subaru Sambar Electrovan
Yeah, that sounds exactly the way the owner is describing it voltage wise. I watched a video that says the van weighed like 3600 pounds, but without the batteries it only weighs something in the neighborhood of 1700#'s. That's a lot of lead! I wish I had the extra funds to put some Nissan leaf cells...

I just saw this ad on CL for a late 70's electric van. Has anybody any experience with these? He still has it available as of today. Re: What would the best full suspension bike be (features)?
With your fabrication skills, I would expect a nice anodized aluminum framed bike with carbon fiber bash guards and CF side plates possibly doubling as stressed members. The rest of the bike would be high end DH components. As a buyer I would expect the bike to take similar abuse of it's DH bicycle ...

Re: Revolt Rv-120/ norco aline ( rc mid drive)
If I'm reading corretly, you want to push the motor past it's max rating? If it holds up, that would make this motor a bargain.
Any idea what it was originally designed for?
Are you concerned with dirt getting flung in the motor from the tire? It would be easy to throw a mud guard on there...

Great build!
If it works for you, don't change anything until it breaks, then just replace with a stronger component and keep riding. I really like how this was built with common tools and the simple solutions to common problems.
Hat's off to you sir!
