Great thread and posts!

Threads like this are the reason I check ES every day. I might be getting old but I can still learn new stuff. 😎

Should we start culling people now while we still have fossil fuels to make metal tools? Or should we just wait for 90% of the population to starve to death in our new medieval world?

Every lithium battery you've ever used is already intrensically a super capacitor in parallel with an electrochemical cell.

This is why EVs don't have any use for adding external super caps to the battery.

I didn't know that.

Thanks!

Thanks Bill.

I thought it sounded sketchy too.

My Volt with a 1500w inverter is all I really need anyway.

can Enphase micro solar inverters be made to provide emergency power?

I was thinking to use a small lipo battery with a 220v inverter to spoof the 220v that the enphase inverters need to see before they will work. Obviously the grid disconnect will need to be thrown before connecting the battery/inverter.

Is this possible or am I looking for trouble.

Out of all the sizes I've tried, I like a 18" moped rim the best.

Re: Forum upgraded and new emoticons

I found the unread icons very useful. They saved a lot of time getting to where the new posts are.

Did they really slow things down on the forum enough to be called redundant? Every other forum I have ever been on has them.

Re: Tesla Model 3

Actually the one thing that worries me about Tesla is the loss of the federal tax credit. I wonder if they can survive the next recession and a loss of financial competitiveness at the same time. We'll see. My thoughts exactly. Seeing as how Trump wants everything to run on coal, he wants to end th...

I think he is talking about switching on a load bank.

I would think using a pre-charge resistor would work.

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

I'm thinking that i have to fork phpbb. It's not something i've wanted to do. The phpbb code is a frocking mess and it will take a while to set up a development environment, etc. But there's a lot of stupid things that should exist in phpbb that just don't.. That's probably a good idea. As to wiki,...
