That's a pretty big risk to be taking on your first order!

I hope everything turns out OK.

Would the contactor be different if it was built for 12V DC or 100V DC but same amp rating?

Yes

Good luck finding a 100V 100A dc contactor that is affordable. Even then you really will need a pre charge circuit to keep the contacts from welding themselves shut when energizing.

Same here. It's been over 11 years for me too.

Even though the current team is doing just fine, I kind of miss Ypedal. 👍👍

Good for you!

I did the same 'semi rerirement' thing 3 weeks before my 40th birthday. I had a chance to sell my business and took it. Best decision I ever made.

Great thread and posts!

Should we start culling people now while we still have fossil fuels to make metal tools? Or should we just wait for 90% of the population to starve to death in our new medieval world?

Every lithium battery you've ever used is already intrensically a super capacitor in parallel with an electrochemical cell.

This is why EVs don't have any use for adding external super caps to the battery.

I didn't know that.

Thanks!

Thanks Bill.

I thought it sounded sketchy too.

My Volt with a 1500w inverter is all I really need anyway.

can Enphase micro solar inverters be made to provide emergency power?

I was thinking to use a small lipo battery with a 220v inverter to spoof the 220v that the enphase inverters need to see before they will work. Obviously the grid disconnect will need to be thrown before connecting the battery/inverter.

Is this possible or am I looking for trouble.

I found the unread icons very useful. They saved a lot of time getting to where the new posts are.

Did they really slow things down on the forum enough to be called redundant? Every other forum I have ever been on has them.

Actually the one thing that worries me about Tesla is the loss of the federal tax credit. I wonder if they can survive the next recession and a loss of financial competitiveness at the same time. Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

I'm thinking that i have to fork phpbb. It's not something i've wanted to do. The phpbb code is a frocking mess and it will take a while to set up a development environment, etc. But there's a lot of stupid things that should exist in phpbb that just don't.. That's probably a good idea. As to wiki,...
