What a absolute miserable road to race on! My hat's off to those who can ride that at speed.

Re: Mid drive front freewheel mod.

OK, I just spent the last ½ hour deleting and editing posts in this thread for insulting behaviour.

I don't enjoy wasting my time, it makes me unhappy. Next time you two guys go at it I'm just going to delete the whole thing. If that causes good info to disappear, so be it...

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

I agree with AW that a cheap DMM like the one Harbor Freight used to give away is good enough for ebike and home use. That said, I also own a nice Fluke 89 for when I absolutely must have a spot on measurement (which is exceedingly rare). For me the most important features are; Auto off beeps when t...

Re: Mid drive front freewheel mod.

Unfortunately, this thread needs to be locked for a while because of too much insulting behaviour.

BTW it's bad forum etiquette to change the wording when quoting somebody, so please don't do it.

thank you,

Re: Vsett 10+ - battery and controller upgrade

Excuse a newbies confusion, but cheez says it is ok for the controller to ask for more amps than the battery can provide. I thought a battery should have a higher rating. Unfortunately Cheez has not learnt enough about ebikes to be offering correct advice so it would be wise to ignore anything of a...

Re: California’s giant new batteries kept the lights on in a heat wave

That sounds to be the same as my city, which owns its own electric distribution grid. The bulk of its power source is also mostly hydro with a good chunk of geothermal thrown in. We are at the mercy of PG&E for the use of their transmission lines though... On a side note, our rate per kWh is les...

Re: E-bike + carbon frame + 52V. 18650 + BMC motor

Thanks for the nice concise reply. I appreciate your thoughts on the matter. However it just seems too complicated and time consuming to me. A big and powerful hub motor/controller/battery fitted with the proper torque arm seems to fit me better (KISS).

Oregon is lucky. According to the above link they get less than 50% of their power from oil. It should be relatively for them easy to convert that to a renewable source.

No. It's my way of avoiding pissing away time looking it up in order to give you correct answer. And I'm not going to take the time to do it either. Just replying to your silly above post is irritating enough. I'm fairly positive you are capable of finding your own answer if you really want to know.

Re: I need acceleration, not range or top speed.

I'm curious, can the biggest possible hub motor that fits the perfect rim for the tire/frame out perform the most powerful conventional type motor that will fit the same frame? I know that for handling, a mid drive will beat a hub everytime. What I'm thinking is that more copper might be able to be ...

Re: California’s giant new batteries kept the lights on in a heat wave

Bottom line is,.. for Ca to truly be the Green example it pretends to be and be fully RE powered , it will need many multiples of its current Wind and Solar capacity, together with an unimaginable amount of storage make that power available when its needed. Yep, And it's a good thing that's what it...

California’s giant new batteries kept the lights on in a heat wave

I got this from the LA Times so I doubt it's BS. I'm a bit surprised that we have come so far and fast getting a decent sized battery backup that's actually useful. It appears that they saved the state from blackouts due to the record temperatures we've been getting lately. Way to go California 🥳🎉🎉 ...
