Re: DIY HUAWEI R4875 70V~100V 0~50A 5000W

Hey! Take it easy you guys, no need for insults in a tech forum.

This thread really belongs in the for sale section anyway as that is what it has developed into.

I like Chalo's lathe. :thumb: It's a perfect example of what I'd recommend for hobby use. I've actually used the same brand in the past.

Yes. A good plan. Like that irritating commercial goes, "Only buy what you need." Turn that cheap angle grinder into a stationary tool https://www.walmart.com/ip/Angle-Grinder-Cutting-Bracket-Angle-Grinder-Special-Cutting-Machine-Accessories/244669909 The best and most useful tool you'll e...

Re: Lightweighting and aerodynamic optimization of a subcompact car.

By worn out I mean instead of tolerances of .00005", you'll only get .0005". plenty good for a fan mounting collar. You'll have more problems drilling the fan mounting holes for the collar. Easy to check compressors. All they need to do is start and turn off at the proper psi and pump and ...

Re: Lightweighting and aerodynamic optimization of a subcompact car.

I agree with Chalo. If I was to buy a new small compressor I'd buy the CAT one. The old Atlas lathes are also excellent. Lathes don't so much break as they just get less precise. IMHO even a worn out one would be good enough for what you will be doing. Look for used stuff. Just be sure to try it bef...

Re: Lightweighting and aerodynamic optimization of a subcompact car.

Just read your latest post.

Yes a small compressor with extra air tanks will work for you. Just be aware that they will drain fast and take awhile to build back up.

For awhile I ran two smaller sized compressors at the same time when using die grinders and the like.

Re: Lightweighting and aerodynamic optimization of a subcompact car.

I think Dremel tools are overpriced for the quality you get. I've been buying Black & Decker ones. They seem to last longer and are cheaper too. I found some replacement chucks on AliExpress to get rid of the crap 1/8" and 3/32"" collets that come with these type of tools. 2021-06...

I've got both the leaf blower and the hedge trimmer and like both of them. They appear to come with a competent battery charger that will keep the battery at the proper state of charge when not used for awhile. If I didn't have artificial turf, I'd own the mower too.

Having an electronic lock on your controller that locks your motor from turning and a bike that's too heavy to carry far helps a lot.

Re: what to do with the wires?

The best solution by far is to use silicone SyrVet tape. It's cheap, comes in many colors, sticks to itself, kind of waterproof and reusable. Hides the wires well too. Black tape on a black frame will make the wires disappear. https://www.horse.com/item/syrvet-syrflex-bandage/SLT181151/ You can buy ...

For awhile now I thought that might be the best way to go. It solves most all the problems. However that requires the utilities cooperation  . Good luck with that. Unless you want to go commando, I think that if you want to install solar you should be required to also install a small battery b...

I know where you are coming from, but if that is what it will take in order to build that 600 hp sand rail, so be it. 🏁🏁🏁 Years back I was part of a team that built and raced a mid engine VW sandrail at Pismo and Glamis. I can't imagine what 600 hp would have been like in that light weight frame. Wh...
