Re: Crash Thread - lucky

Well when I fell over the handlebars and to the side, I had momentum and the bikes front wheel stayed pretty much on one side of the sidewalk, the handlebars slammed into to sidewalk, wrecking the smooth movement of the lever. I think my shoulder probably hit the the grass on the other side of the ...

Re: Eternal outskirts of Moscow (LOTS of pics!)

WOW, what a job. Thanks for all the info.

Winter sounds like Chicago was in the winter, as for summer I doubt it's hotter and humid as Florida is.

Keep those pics coming.

Re: Eternal outskirts of Moscow (LOTS of pics!)

Some more great pictures. Looks like it might be fun to visit but would have to come in the summer, too cold for me now.

So how far is work and what do you do. by the map it looks like a long ride.

Re: Samsung SDI cell - 22Ah - EU - Austria - LiFePO4

Yes but 4 cells not enough, I guess for 12v operation it would work but I was planning ebike build, would need at least 14, and even then I guess 30ah would have been more desireable Aren't they Kinda big for a bike project. 12 cells is 36v, 16 cells make it 48v that Ping has them, They are LiFePo4...

Good luck Matt. I live on the other side of the state and hoping the same thing, that it goes north or out to sea. As much hype on the west coast must be nothing compared to what you got.

Laws in Russia  Nyet on laws. $10 bill is all it takes! Greenback preferred program. Skorohod, do you have a Dotcha on the outskirts? The only 2 Russian words I remember. Very good pics. So you are saying they heated buildings from a source far away? Seems a waste to do that. Bike looks nice. ...

Re: Converting a Bakfiets cargo bike

The one thing about a DD is the drag or cogging, if you don't give some throttle. Yes a geared hub does whine but they have better torque at low speed.

Yes, I also would consider a larger battery. A little more is better than not enough.

Re: Converting a Bakfiets cargo bike

I have those controllers and still using them, work great. If you are buying the hub from Grin, why not get it all there as a package? In most cases when you buy motor here, controller there and throttle somewhere, in most cases the wiring doesn't match colors or plugs are wrong. It fine if you unde...

Re: Replace phase wires MAC

No need for a gear puller, unless you change the clutch and gears. The impact comes in real handy if yours has Phillips screws. Push down and twist like your unscrewing them, While you hit it with a hammer. Usually one whack and the screw is loose. You can then take the cover off, take the motor out...

I would think you need to replace the skewer axle. Then go to the old style nut type axle, to get it to work.

I moved down from Chicago NW suburbs 14 months ago. Have logged 7000 miles so far and the only ones asking if it's electric are bikers. I pedal most the time but have only throttle. 99% miles have been on bike paths thru Starky woods and the Suncoast Hwy 589. Have seen rangers but never was stopped ...

I don't suppose the cheap controller has a learn connector. A lot of the cheap ones now does have the teack/learn connectors. I would start with crossing the blue and green phase as well as the halls. If not the green and yellow. Those sere the most common for my MACs, with odd controllers. Using a ...
