Re: 1000w + geared rear hub source?

I have some MACs, 2, 7turn, 5, 8turn and a 12turn. Love em! Yes they do whine a little and I don't care that they hear me and like it at times. They do climb hills well. 12turn is run 66v nominal and 44v when I deplete the 66v pack. 66v gives me right around 30mph with big tires and like 24 on 44v. ...

Re: YALU New BBS-Style mid drive kit with external controler

One big concern is, are there repair parts available?
I'd like to see one in action before buying one. A no name is a real gamble, since they aren't a basic hub motor.

Re: Hall sensor died today

Are you sure it's the hall sensors? If it's notchy it could be the controller or a shorted phase wire. In most cases the halls will not cause a drag on the motor. try disconnecting the phse wires and see if the drg/notchy goes away. There are ways to test the halls and the phase wires as well as the...

Re: Hub motor suddenly starts heavy rubbing sound

Np on the halls if the aren't connected, even if they were wouldn't cause overheating normally. It sounds like a shorted phase going into the axle, since you said you moved the wires. If it happens again move the wires if that changes the drag than it's in the axle or going into.

I don't think the battery will be what they claim. Too long of description for that battery. too much hype. What cells are they using? Price is ok.

Just what I feel.

We just had another 25 cent rise shortly after getting the same a week ago? From a low of 1.92 to 2.75 today! WTF are they trying to do, put us all in a EV? You on the west coast, are really getting shafted. Dan Being put in an EV would be horrible, wouldn't it? That is what I am waiting for....

Re: Putting rear gear hub motor to front?

Hi, I am learning more and more by the day. I recently bought a leafbike 2000 watt direct drive brushless motor for my super 73 and plan to pair it with a 52 volt 14.8ah battery using LG HG2 cells. I originally thought that the direct drive 2000 watt with battery would be faster than the 500 watt g...

Re: Discharge balancing on Parallel batteries??

Unless both BMS use only one set of charge/discharge leads you need to charge only with the charge side. Many BMS won't balance or shut off if charged thru the discharge side. I don't see a concern charging both packs with 8amps if parallel. Concern is some BMS don't like much over 5 amps. While cha...

Re: Are You getting the cold?

It's cold here in the pool, only 66, which is 7 degrees higher than a month a go. Low 60's is the low with 80 as a high for the next week, with a few cold days of 65. I sure don't miss the sub 0 weather, just can't ride when it's that cold. Only a few more weeks and it will be spring for you and hot...

The plugs might be the same but the color matches might not be in the motor. Just because the colors match doesn't mean the motor will run, correctly. The most important match is the positive and negative. Call them again and see what's up. Be nice, don't scream at them. Tell them that you are promo...

Re: new eZip motor

It was a ebikeling, 500 watt but I ran it to hard. I forgot that the smaller motors are more fragile than the MACs are, I have damaged clutches in a a MAC too. The brushed motors and controllers are cheap in comparison. There are many 750 watt controllers on Ebay. Not cheap like the brushed ones. I ...

Re: new eZip motor

Hey LC, Happy New year! Yes it will damage that motor. I had one and switched my power switch from low to medium and it damaged the clutch in the motor. It ran but if I gave it too much throttle too soon, the clutch slipped. You cannot use two motors on one controller. It might work it might not. Al...
