Re: new eZip motor

Were the packs still in series (44v)? A resistor won't help. If they are that far off they should not be connected.

Re: new eZip motor

samsung.png I will see what happens. Doing the math the two 10.0 Multistar will run me $150 to get 44 volts @ 10 Ah The cheap Wall-Mart cells tested on youtube would run me close to that with tax for a 44 volt 8 Ah pack. Is it really true that the 18650 cells will last 2 to 3 times longer than LiPo...

Re: Standard formula for Calculating Ebike Range

20wh/mile is a nice benchmark, but 100wh/mile or more is just too much fun. I like your way of thinkin! Yes fun is probably why most here have Ebikes. I know commuting is one thing, mine too, but many use the bike to have fun while commuting. No they don't see 100wh/mi like you, but, fun ...

Re: new eZip motor

LC,I recommend you to leave them alone. You don't quite understand them yet. Soldering is getting better. Why are you afraid using the SONA packs? If the bike is drawing too much they would shut down fast due to the BMS function. That would tell you that there is a problem. Hope you get your money b...

Re: Battery series wiring

You might want to put something between the rows of cells, so they don't rub and short.

Re: new eZip motor

Sorry LC but we did worn you. Just because they look like diamonds they really aren't. I would defiantly let the seller that they are not as listed. Ask or tell him you want a refund, at least half. I bought some fake cells knowing they were not the listed 5000mah but only 1500mah. I got half the mo...

Re: Help me ID this controller and what voltage I can use it with

Yes the controller could do it as it hits LVC. Normally the controller will come back as the voltage rises with no load. It sounds like the battery is done. A BMS shuts down to protect the battery from over load or a low/bad cell group. Since you need to turn off and on to regain power, it is most l...

Your gonna need 16s not 15. I have read that those cells aren't that great but I have no experience. Do you think the magnets will hold with all the bumps?

Re: new eZip motor

OK LC. You want them get them. You added .1v to the cells, ok all that is miss leading. They are 3.2/3.3 nominal not 3.4. No big deal. As for charging. If you charge more than one pack, at least 5 maps and more if more packs. I charge at 10 amps with my 16a pack and it is rated at 2c or 32 amps. NO ...

Re: new eZip motor

That will work, I thought you meant, TO EACH CELL. I think the top capacity 18650 is 3500 mah but they are getting better. And the old cells are getting cheaper. Like the 3000 mah cells. If they are real that's not bad. Back to the 26650 cells you keep bringing up. They were/are lower voltage cells ...

Re: new eZip motor

If the cells are already paralleled in the kit then you only need one wire per cell group. You sure don't want a wire to each cell, you would be lost in a rats nest of wires. Try to go with the 3000 mah cell or higher.

You can buy them cheaper per battery at the site for the holders.
The cells cost more but are larger mah and are better cells except the QB, which are ?

Re: new eZip motor

Much better. See you can do things you think you can't. I would turn the washers around so the washers also help hold the axle in the fork. Run it a few miles and check tightness. Don't do it drunk as you might snap the fork trying to crank the nuts too tight. What happened to the bike with disc bra...

Re: Water shorted throttle or bad controller

Water in a throttle with battery indicators can short and cause full throttle.
Other connectors should be covered and greased. There are many posts on winterizing and waterproofing. Do a search.

I will ask more information to the seller and I will come back to you regarding the discharge up to 45v, a 48v battery should not stay at least 48v? thank you 48V Is just the nominal voltage, which is close to the middle of the upper and lower voltage of the cells. 45v would be the low end of the c...

All right! Make sure the nuts are tight but not too tight. Is the fork aluminum or steel? You said it had lips, if so be sure to put washers that fit in side the lips so you can tighten them without breaking the drop out. Steel won't snap Aluminum will. So how did you Photoshop the pedaling into the...
