Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Got the Nuc24F installed over the weekend. Oh wow, its a blast! :D Great throttle response! I had trouble getting the larger 3x3 connector seated all the way. Brand A female vs Brand B male don't mate perfectly. TIGHT fit. I trip the oem battery BMS at 120A but not at 110A. Those are the only two d...

If you already have a NUC 24F, you could think about upgrading to a 72V battery. It's worth it :D
Oh I know, but I'm already about £2500 into mods on this thing so waiting a couple of months before I pull the trigger on a battery as well

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

BMS trips at between 90 and 110 amps depending on what version you have (140 doesn't seem right assuming it's the stock battery. Even with BMS bypass your cell lifespan is going to be greatly reduced). Any idea if there's a way to tell from the battery what the BMS will trip at? I thought the newer...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I saw someone who mounted their 24f inside the stock sur ron controller heatsink. I might have to buy a dud controller to try that, I love the look of the stock controller. I have done that too because of the looks. The "donator"-Controller had all his connectors cut directly after exitin...

I think most people with the 24f's have 'completed' the Sur Ron upgrade journey and have moved on to riding the thing

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Waiting listed for a Nuc 24f since January so hopefully that starts moving soon :D I signed up for a nuc controller on Mar3, glad to see I'm not the only customer forgotten by those guys. Orlov & most of the other Easterners have moved on from nuc so I have now given up ever getting one & I...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Thought I'd post an update as I got some really good advice earlier in the thread that helped me road-register my non-road-legal Sur Ron in the UK :D There's a 'loophole' in the UK where if a bike fits certain dimensions, it doesn't have to go through a rigorous type approval process (which checks t...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

The lower boss is considered a 55mm pocket, should be 54.9mm Cane Creek 40 zero stack - ZS55 bottom including adapter (CCR041) for straight steerer, #BAA0737K no problem at all. you dont need a boost hub. all your non boost 20x110 will fit. all you need is a 5mm disc spacer. the 49 is a 29" fo...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Here are pictures of the Lunacycle cane creek headset box. They included another part for the lower that I should have taken a picture of. Just in case you want to by pass Lunacycle. Again this is only the top headset! Awesome - I'm looking for a Cane Creek headset in the UK so this will be super h...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

21" moto rim is similar diameter to 26" mtb .. but the longer fork my slack the steering head angle a bit.. so maybe run larger diameter rear tire such as 19 x 3.25 to compensate and level the bike.. Yeah this was my understanding, I've done a similar change on my 'legacy' bike (Husqvarna...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

IMO that front wheel / fork setup will give the Sur-Ron the proportions of a Pennyfarthing. With that change in bike geometry, I doubt you'll be happy with the ride. But if you decide to go there, would love to get your feedback on the experiment. I've personally gone with a strong 26" MTB whe...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

First post, hi etc, thanks for all the grand information in this huge thread! Maybe getting a bit ahead of myself here but I have an LBX on the way that I want to eventually upgrade, Nucular 24f on preorder and some other bits etc. I've come across a used Fox 49 Factory (29er + boost fork) for good ...
