Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

Not sure what people are considering "#3" - but the third one on the list I see is the "AstroAI" for ~$18. It says and looks like it does AC and DC voltage to me, plus 'the usual' other functions... resistance, conductivity, etc. For general use, I suspect it would be more than a...

Re: My ebike caught on fire.

...The battery that caught fire kept turning off, this also happened when the battery was not wired in series. I figured the BMS was turning the battery off. Charging the battery for a few days fixed the issue. While riding around with both batteries in series I noticed the battery that caught fire...

Re: Just completed first commute on DIY eMTB, thoughts…

Truthfully, if this was your very first ride, I would say stick with it for a few weeks or months, then see what still hurts/gives you pains and work to change that. I go through this every spring with my wife. I am almost always out riding but in the spring, she suddenly gets an itch to come along....

Thought maybe this would be a bit better... especially if we know of someone a bit sympathetic to us 'tinkerers' ...than just the corporate 'contact us' link. I also th...

Just bumping this thread. Any recent news on further unraveling the CAN commands and anybody tried the BESST Pro on the 46.7 version of the M600 firmware ? I tried, not working. Write to Bafang for M600 firmware compatible with Besst Pro. Will give it a try! https://bafangusadirect.com/pages/suppor...

...Thus im left pedalling like a mad man on an ebike to get off the line whilst im being overtaken by groups of regular cyclists. You might have to define what this actually means a bit more closely. Re: Battery amps and ah. Difference and testing

So on most batteries it is stated an "AH". For example 13AH. 48volt 13ah as an example. This gives 624watt. Well, the 'hours' carries through as well, so technically 624 watt-hours. What is the difference between amps and AH when you are trying to find out how much max-current form a cont...

Github would be ideal, but I don't have permissions to upload it there. You can try it here: Download all these files to a folder. Delete the ".zip" extension from each file name. Run "BESST_Pro_V1.exe" to rebuild the archive into a single .exe file. Then run that .exe file to in...

Technically, I think that applies to house wiring and connecting copper/'silver' wires, where the silver was an old aluminum wire that caused a whole host of troubles...and fires. Sounds like you are talking modern day electronics where the 'silver' is likely a nickel or tin flash plating on copper ...

Re: Solder my 60/40 radio shack stuff

60/40 solder is fine solder. Your goal is to get the copper conducting elements in your joint as close as physically possible to each other before soldering. Yes, good point. Plus there is a whole art to soldering. Ideally, the wire would have a mechanical joint such as a crimp, dog-leg through a h...

Guess it depends on what you consider 'clearly abandoned'. Just a few weeks ago we had a news story where some local tweakers thought an electric scooter was 'clearly abandoned' and took off with it. Turns out a kid had just ridden it to a shop and left it parked at a bike rack outside. So one perso...

If truly the bolt generating the heat (and eyeballing those to be zinc plated steel bolts) - a brass bolt would have about half the resistance of steel, and a copper bolt would have about 1/6th, if memory serves.... maybe even less. So either of those two materials would create considerably less hea...
