Like the one Vbruun found. A 220oC motor with hall sensors, but twice the price of the bare tsdz2 motor.
Retro-fitting any 3rd party motor is going to require some serious skills and imagination.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I updated my motor to v1.1.0 with a 860c display. I did a few test run. Today, I took it for for 30 mil ride. The route has some good climb (14%). The startup power seems to have improved. At the end of the trip, I noticed the trip distance was not correct. I use imperial system. Instead of roughly ...

...... I like the heat sinks that you made. That's the first time I've seen that done. .... Not exactly the first time. I think andrea_104kg was the first experimenting with a sort of heatsinks. QuirkyOrk and Owskov also placed heatsinks on the housing. .... I would like to add the heat sink also. ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

also, on my 860C, the 'temp graph' is showing things like 180 even though the motor temp is like 75F ? its 860C firmware 1.0.0, and I'm not totally sure what the TSDZ2 firmware is, iI can't seem to find anyplace where the TSDZ2 firmware version is displayed. I have the same temp graphic problem wit...

Tried the trip memories again and it worked. I’ll give the power setting a try. I think u are right, it should be better.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I updated the firmware to v1.1.0. I noticed on the top of the menu is “trip memories”. When I click on that, the 860c display freezes up with an error code and the buttons became non responsive. I had to reboot it by turning it off using the battery power switch. Other than that, I need to take it ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Hi all, I would like to share with the Forum what I did on the TSDZ2 engine to improve heat dissipation. Part 1 I acted in 3 areas: 1 - Installation of Thermal Pad according to what is described in this forum. 2 - Installation of heatsinks in the motor housing 3 - Lubricate the engine with a grease...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I've modified my motor to make it easier to change the blue gear on the road, all that's needed is the lock-ring tool and a couple of torx keys. But probably now something else will break instead. Can you please share some pics how it looks like? Can you pedal with the motor off easly ? did you try...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

After climbing more than 2000ft up Mt Diablo, I think my recumbent trike can use a smaller chainring. I doubled up the 52T with the stock offset 42T. I need to place washers to clear the inner ring from the motor housing. Although I can’t shift it with a derailleur since the boom doesn’t have the d...

Is it possible that the noise is unrelated to the motor? Did you check your drive train, may be the chain or the chainring are worn.

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I was experimenting with the start up boost feature. I usual have the torque sensor "Assist w/o pedal rotation" enabled so I get immediate assist. Enabling the boost feature seems to deactivate it and I am back to pedaling alittle before assist kicks in. No difference if the boost setting is on sta...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

Something does not add up here. May be I calibrated my torque sensor incorrectly. I use the imperial instead of metric. So my inputs to the calibration are in lbs. I confirmed that my assist factors are at default. When I have the assist at 10 and my human power at 50 watts, the motor draws about 1 ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

A few of us have reported the “overrun” issue here. By this, I mean the motor continues to add assist for a period after we stop pedaling causing harsh shifting, etc. I experienced this and therefore dug into the Assist settings. As a result, I offer the following: With "Torque" chosen under Motor ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I noticed the same with 2 motors I installed on the recumbent trikes. I thought it was by design. But I do like the original firmware when I stopped pedaling, the motor stopped immediately. I am using default 20 level of assists. I usually run it between 10-16. My trike is heavy. Torque mode vs pow...

Hello, I'm happy user TSDZ2 with opensource firmware. I have just one problem. The motor does not stop immediately when I stop pedaling, but after 0,5 - 1 sec. There was no problem with the original software. Do You have any idea where is the problem? I tried many settings but nothing helps. Displa...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive with 860C, 850C or SW102 displays only -- Flexible OpenSource firmware (Casainho code only)

I just setup the motor/temp sensor with the 860c display and did the OSF update to v1.0.0. The temp reading is correct in F but the graph seems to have converted the y axis value with a multipler as if it was a value in C and I ended up with the number like 180.
