Re: gas price thread

In short, it is the result of dumb political commitments to “Net Zero” etc limiting the use of those fossil fuels, and hence forcing the closure of coal/gas generators without installing a workable alternatives ( only Wind & Solar). What is their thinking? That ‘Stra’ya's catastrophic wildfires...

Re: What does overvolting mean?

Why is it that I see some people using statorade and stuff on youtube to cool the motor if the motor don't really care about it? If you load up the motor too much (ex. trying to climb too steep a hill with too much weight) it will overheat internally and fry the wiring. Adding the statorade helps t...

Re: The SB Cruiser : Amberwolf's 2WD Heavy Cargo Trike & Dog Carrier

Lately I've been having good results from Specialized brand innertubes. Do they make 20x2.5 thickwall tubes with a TR-6 threaded valve stem? Sorry, not sure. I got them from FLBS when I was suffering the "evil innertube syndrome." Happily they had the size I needed (26 x 1.75-2.4), decent...

Re: My first build - How is the Voilamart 1500w kit? Lipo vs liion? Some basic questions

Controller-in-hub is not ideal from most of ours perspectives. As 9zip mentioned, why constantly subject a controller's heat-sensitive components to the hot inner environment of a hubmotor? Also, if the controller fails (they do) you can't simply swap in a spare and get on with it. Or if the motor f...

Re: 1500w fat tire bike vs mountain bike top speed? Are fatbike recommended for beginners? Is LeafBike good?

Are fatbikes a good build choice for a beginner? I will be using this for some small commutes on roads with 50kmh speed limits, but I'd also like to go down trails and on beaches which is why I'm thinking about going with a fatbike. I've heard that they are not good for commuting, and that the hand...

...hopefully the switch will actually still work when the system freaks out and goes open-throttle. :P If applying the brake (squeezing the brake lever) cuts power normally now, then we can presume it would cut power during a (throttle lifted ground) runaway situation. Replacing the big hoseclamp w...

Poor/intermitent continuity of the throttle ground wire will result in those symptoms. With no ground, the signal goes to 5V. This sounds possible, but isn't that completely insane? I would guess it is a common problem that some wire would accidentally get disconnected. A single wire continuity pro...

I'm gravitating to a new Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29 after all, it seems like it might be a fun bike to ride for a while before I convert it (thought the sloping top tube might give me problems with my Yakima car rack). Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29 was my first ebike. Good solid platform, de...
