But my girlfriend is a little weary of battery safety, having seen some clips of ebikes on fire. Putting it together in a clean, factory looking package will just make her feel more comfortable vs something that looks homemade.
That right there is worth a LOT! :thumb:

Re: Any reason to not go Straight for a 14s, 52v pack for my first battery?

- is there any reason for me at all (assuming I find those cell's data sheets) to go for a battery back that isn't a 14S, aside from safety? I know Dogdipstick is a BIG fan of going 60v; what are ya'lls opinions? Reasons? How about top speed and motor efficiency at your desired most used cruising s...

...hopefully the switch will actually still work when the system freaks out and goes open-throttle. :P If applying the brake (squeezing the brake lever) cuts power normally now, then we can presume it would cut power during a (throttle lifted ground) runaway situation. Replacing the big hoseclamp w...

The bike comes stock with a lishui controller which doesnt seem to be modifiable. There are some threads here about programming Lishui controllers, have you checked them? Minor warning about attempting to blindly plug in connectors when changing components: Just because the connectors appear to mat...

Re: Eternal outskirts of Moscow and beyond (LOTS of pics!)

Let me return to my mini-theme of differences in the unhoused environs: Looking at your photo #22, the bomzh habitat appears to be lacking the huge piles of trash and cast-off items usually affiliated with the encampments in my area. What do they do with their garbage (discarded food containers, bag...

Presuming the DS3 display has a diagnostic mode like the earlier G2 display does, can you enter the diag. mode? Re: Sudden Unintended Acceleration, Chinese 3kw hub motor kit.

Poor/intermitent continuity of the throttle ground wire will result in those symptoms. With no ground, the signal goes to 5V. This sounds possible, but isn't that completely insane? I would guess it is a common problem that some wire would accidentally get disconnected. A single wire continuity pro...

I'm gravitating to a new Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29 after all, it seems like it might be a fun bike to ride for a while before I convert it (thought the sloping top tube might give me problems with my Yakima car rack). Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29 was my first ebike. Good solid platform, de...

Not sure what a DVOM is but I've got a common basic voltmeter and will see if can probe under the battery somewhere for a reading.
That should work.

Best way to do that is for YOU to cross the river first, then go back and take the bike across if it is doable, otherwise find a better place to cross. From the linked photo the battery looks like a common silverfish (generic form factor tradename) so shouldn't be too hard to source a suitable (or b...

Not stripped, almost non-existent the hole is too large for the tap so threads are shallow. .... Thats most likely because they are at the bottom of a “blind” tapped hole where the end threads on the tap would be tapered off. Not exotic at all, a bottoming tap cuts threads to less than 2 threads fr...

Just out of curiosity (trying to learn, hoping not to derail the thread, but seems ontopic), what kind of glue is appropriate here?
