Re: BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

[ I think there are two different settings. One is Torque VS pedal force (PAS) Second is PAS VS cadence speed (RPM) They both serve very different scenarios. Sensor calibration is universal variable across all cadences. While PAS vs RPM is very specific to cadance. Using both those variables you ca...

Re: BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

2 thoughts. First, it's not hard to improve on the standard Bafang settings with your own preferences in mind. Second, keep in mind we are all going to have our own set of 'druthers when it comes to the Ultra, or any of the BBSxx series for that matter. There is not going to be a generic set of par...

Re: BAFANG ULTRA: Torque sensor transformation curve

Hello, there is something a little unclear about the Ultra torque sensor calibration. It seems that with no pressure on pedals, base input voltage is around 750 mV (TqVoltate) Said that, it looks like default torque settings have no sense at all. Infact, default do not take care of the sensor base ...

Does anyone have the frey config tool to program the Bafang motors in the AM1000? The regular bafang config softwares won't connect to the frey Bafang motors.

any news here, i would also like to know some things about the Bafang Ultra. for example mine cuts power down to 600watt when battery is under 43V but in the setup (i have 48V battery and eggrider display to change settings on the fly) even if i set cutoff to 39V. also the torque sensor is not resp...

Re: Bafang ultra upgrade to 2500watt

Thanks again for all the help thus far. I've decided to stick with a 52v battery for now. I'm currently running 50amps through it. I've put just over 500km and full throttle all the time and seems stable. I want to run more power (maybe slowly work it up to 60amps). Do you think this the stock cont...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

This GPS Tracker is working great in my Frey CC secured in the downtube near the internal routing holes and hardwired to internal battery. I tapped into the charging port which has a fuse. Frey might consider offering it as a pre-installed option (although users would need to remove it to install t...

anyways. inspired by a facebook post I have a little story about Frey Ex and the battery diodes. back in April 2020 when I bought my (now stolen) Frey EX I made a few tests and the very first thing I did: I removed the 2x diodes for the possible 2x batteries. let me explain: if e.g. you pull the th...

I don’t know what is happening but this motor just feels smoother and smoother. Can’t praise this controller enough. At ECO2 we are getting the Shimano E8000 buttery smooth. With SPORT 1-5 it’s still silent and smooth but just pulls like tugboat. Have to be really careful since my frame is partiall...

I don't believe Watt Wagons is going to sell those controllers separate either, like the Excess controller they come with the motor pre-calibrated. Buy a whole motor/bike or no dice! Bafang's factory specifications demand motor to be re-calibrated every time it has been open. I think, it's got some...

Hi all, so I have the tongsheng TSDZ2, 48v 500w with a 48v 17.5ah battery. I am using it to pull a kids bike trailer fairly full of watersports equipment, it probably weighs about 25kg including the trailer, I need it on the highest level of assist. On the flat the motor is getting slightly warm bu...

Well I have my branded bike by "Norco" developing crack, suspension as well, near welds. It's always near weld line due to thermal stress. It was not abused, just snapped on trail.
It's common issue, all bikes have this. Some more, others less. :thumb:

typically the first place to look is the rear suspension bolts.. they work themselves loose after a while. I pulled all mine out and put blue threadlock on each one. Otherwise, loose shock bolts, headset or even the thru axles. It would be hard to imaging it's the motor mount fasteners, they are in...

I will cycle batteries around 10 times and then datalog charging curves in order to get better idea on what's going on. Max voltage of charged batteries now sit at 54.4V by memory. Frey EX - New Battery capacity issue

Guys, I got 3A charger supplied with Frey EX. Checked output current, it's under 3A. Battery goes from 5% to 100% in 3 hours. Meaning it's accepted about 9 a/h of charge. But spec suggest 14a/h batteries. Max voltage suggest they are 100% charged to 4.2V, so no buffer at the top. I hear that there i...

Guys, with newly delivered Bafang Ultra (Frey EX), I experience two issues: 1. Motor over-run after you stop pedalling. On highest setting, coming to the top of the hill, it sent me in to the woods, was not expecting that. Is there a way to reduce over-run? 2. For some reason, I get motor cut-out wh...
