Re: My Kentucky Fried Fingers

So I read this in the afternoon.
That evening bbuzzaaappp a small star shows up while shorting a couple wires.
Seem to always be looking right at it and think I am paying attention to what I am doing.

Oh well.
Till next time...

Ya man went there did that. :D

An easy way to be part of the record book if nothing else.

Was a good chance to see other styles of ebikes and meet the riders.

Made for a good afternoon.

Re: Urgent! Can I ride home on shorted phase motor?

I suspect that your motor is ok. Continuity between all phase leads is a good thing. If 2 melted bullet connectors were to touch each other that would make the motor hard to turn and it might just damage a fet in the controller.

E bikes are available to rent here and now.

The article refers to some ebikes as little motorcycles.

Re: Front hub thousand-watt bad

Welcome to the sphere. Enjoy the ride. Where in the world are you located? I think Fechter should post up a guinea pig pic in honor of your blown controller. You are one of the few to combine gas and electric on the same bike. You are helping to find the stuff to look out for. The controller convert...

Re: Lacing Moto Rim to Hub Motor

For an 18 inch steel mc rim I use 10 gage spokes in a 2 cross pattern.

For a 16 inch rim you might consider a 1 cross pattern, maybe even re-drill the hub flange to get the spoke angle in the ballpark.

Good Luck

Re: Front hub thousand-watt bad

Yes well a permanent magnet motor will act as a generator when spun up. So if the gas motor is driving the bike at 30 mph and the front hub motor is a direct drive motor then that front motor is generating juice. A guess from here is that the hub motor generated a high enough voltage to damage the f...

Those volt readings do not look well balanced to me.
I will balance charge my rc lipo packs if they get to be near .1 volt of difference.

Everything about that controller is in this thread http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=71128&sid=799140c0c8c8f092662f8086d6f8d1ab The short answer is you do not need to do anything with the 3 speed connector. It will default to mid range. You can use a jumper to put it in low speed ...

30 years ago it was easy to grab the evaporator inlet and outlet pipes from under the hood.
If the outlet was warmer than the inlet it was time to add more.

Long ago I had a failed EVG charger and a friend found one diode had failed.

It was an easy to replace part.

Just had to locate which one
