Re: Tangent Ascent feedback?

Does Tangent still make the ebike kits? I'd just like to contact him. I probably will end up with a Bosch ebike motor meant for cargo bikes, but I would still like to contact Dave from Tangent.

Tangent Ascent feedback?

Does Tangent Ascent still make ebike motors for electric-assist bicycles? I heard a man named Dave was making the motors. If so, how can I contact him? It hasn't been easy to get in contact with the people who do design and manufacture American-made electric-assist ebike motors and kits.

Tangentdave used to participate in the forum regularly, but not lately. Appears as though he's "flown the coop".
Do you think Tangentdave is the same person related to the Tangent Ascent ebike motor kits? By "flown the coop" do you mean that he stopped making ebike motors altogether?

Seattle-made Tangent Ascent motor

Where can I contact the person who sells the Tangent Ascent ebike kits? I heard they have Astro Flight motors in them. The contact page lists no information but I heard that a man named Dave makes and sells the kits. https://tangentmotors.com/contact from https://www.electricbike.com/tangent-ascent/

Re: Astro Flight motor on cargo bike

If you want an American made motor, check out the Neu 8057 based builds on Endless Sphere. They spin slowly enough to work with a single stage reduction and can put out lots of power. Neu is also offering 120 and 180 size motors as well. Is that from here? Thanks for your help. https://neumotors.com/

Astro Flight motor on cargo bike

I'm wanting as much American-made components on a yet-to-be-built Ti Cycles Fabrication cargo bike. Is it possible to install an Astro Flight motor with Gates Carbon belt drive and a Rohloff hub? What outer casing/cover is the one to use to cover the Astro Flight motor? Can one of their motors simpl...

Re: Why are the DaVinci drives used?

Assuming you are talking about Matts design? It is a 2 step reduction to achieve a total reduction that is hard to achieve with one stage. (With the tech that is used) They are quality components and uses a motor that has hard-to-beat power to weight ratio. The engineering challenge lies in that th...

Astro Flight motor on cargo bike

Who can make groupset / drive components to work with powerful Astro Flight electric motors?

It is for custom, steel cargo bicycle and I want a lot of power. I'm also trying to find American-made components as much as possible.
