Re: FLIPSKY new 20s 100A tiny controller (vesc based)

The canbus dies like to fail during power up/down My understanding is that this is due to the controllers losing their ground connection between them. If you unplug and the ground breaks first, positive second, the canbus chip sees the full battery voltage across it and there only designed to have ...

Re: Ruined $150 Shimano Deore hydraulic brakes

I've raced the megavalanche 3 times with a front deore disc and 200mm rotor. Me and bike weigh 220lbs together... 100kg That's over 2000m descent in less than an hour. That's over 544W on average being disippated, of which a large proportion goes into the front brake. Even at 50% heavier than my set...

Re: FLIPSKY new 20s 100A tiny controller (vesc based)

You will need a antispark switch for ease of use. You can make a 2 stage switch with a resitor to power up the capacitors slowly then switch over. I find the antispark switches good even if i broke one. I found some DIY schematics. So I will build a 2 stage switch. This way I know how to repair if ...

Dang Mihai_F, that motor totally rocks! :thumb: Six years in the making? My hat goes off to you. It's rare to see such a splendid success, and we're all pumped now! 20Kw and 7.7kg is crazy dreamy. It might be a faulty pcb trace or maybe the MCU has a fault.
Definitely not the MCU in my case,i replaced that and same effect.

Faulty trace... I can't find it. It's possible but the currents and phase voltages check out and it's pwming correctly.

There's nothing else inside the bb. Just those 2 cups and the axle.
There's a little plastic sleeve between the cups that serves as a crap shield.
And some air. Don't forget the air.

I also had the squealing noise on one of my 5 boards. That's the main symptom of it not working. All 5 have the same firmware. I'm buggered if i can work out what it is. Re: Breaking in a high powered motor/insulating

I have a 100hp motorbike and a downhill bike Frankly the downhill bike is more stable at the same speeds. The downhill bike can lock both wheels at any speed on any surface, some surfaces this would result in becoming a human javelin, some it would skid. One major advantage of the downhill bike is t...

Re: Hub Motor Idea

I don't see any reason not to 3d print it. It'll run if it is a good concept and design and you can probably replace the structural bits with laser cut sheet or CNC bits later.

You could probably build a working hub for less than 1k. High power and sellable no. Presentable to investors? Sure

Re: What is the best practice Wye connection for integer wound motor

If you're wiring the coils in series, which you must be to get a useable kv, then the order in which they're wired really shouldn't make a difference except to the ease of wiring and assembly. Last time I looked at 3d printing metals I nearly had a heart attack at the price. It's not really applicab...

Just need to look in the .c file, where it has the temeprature sensor as used defined. the others can sit there and happily read open pins AFAIK... Worked for me. There's a macro. float hw75_300_get_temp(void) { float t1 = (1.0 / ((logf(NTC_RES(ADC_Value[ADC_IND_TEMP_MOS]) / 10000.0) / 3380.0) + (1....

Re: 300A bldc esc, mosfets ringing, help

Really does sound like the issue is with the resistor value then. Things are never truly random. In this case it's probably related to the amount of current flowing at switch time, and the parasitic inductances and possibly the body diode causing gate bounce. You could try adding a pull down side be...

Have you got a gate trace to go with this? Parasitic turn on should be visible from the gate signals. I had something similar to this when I was writing my code for BLDC...
