New use for the old 9c motor from years ago, cheap sensorless controller. Still needs a Shock Absorber upgrade. Rides nice.

Re: Added suspension, FS custom cruiser

Just a 500w controller, more of a comfortable/flashy street ride than off road really.
But I'm up for a bush bash if you are. I'll just go a bit slower.

Your ultra dry and razor sharp, bleeding edge, British type sarcasm gets the real point out in the open in just one post, yet again. :D

Nice one Chalo, everytime I read the above post, I keep hearing it in John Cleese's voice, LOL.

Keep up the good fight.

2. perhaps nutspecial has something to do with it.
3.Just a non windy period.

Re: Added suspension, FS custom cruiser

Scored an old beer company promotional bike recently for 50 bucks, thought I'd take a shot at getting it going again. IMG_1222.JPG The battery that i've just put on it is a 48V 20AH samsung Li-Ion that I got free because of a blown BMS, seems tiny sitting there under the seat for 20 AH's. IMG_1223.J...

Did the locally made axle turn out to be a bit expensive ?

I don't need an axle at the moment but might at some future stage.

Nice one Ypedal, he looks like a great new best mate.

Could be time for a vacuum cleaner upgrade to "industrial strength" I think.

Re: Added suspension, FS custom cruiser

Just a few more pics of the restoration. Had to re-connect nearly every wire on the controller, you can't see most of the joins in this pic. thought I'd add a couple of screw tight grommets, works pretty well.

Re: E Bike tires

ebike tyre.jpg This 20"er came off a small folding bike and does feel a bit thicker than a regular tyre. I've never used it and can't seem to find out much about them online so can't attest to it's quality. It does look a bit like the "ebike" bit has been tacked on as an afterthought marketing ploy...

Re: E Bike tires

The 2 tyres trick does seem to stop punctures but the added rolling weight penalty made me go back to just one.
The inner tyre will shift position relative to the outer in high power setups causing lots of tiny balls of rubber to build up between them and exacerbate the problem.

I don't think paypal is an option with aliexpress. But if you use a credit/debit card you are reasonably protected. I've been getting stuff off them for a couple of years and haven't had any problems yet, delivery is quite slow, generally between 3 to 5 weeks (to Oz, anyway). But that's just china p...

Yeah, the city council sure do spend people's money on some weird shit around these parts. I've no idea what it's supposed to represent. Just sort of went up overnight, overlooking the water. It does seems popular with tourists kids though.

I think from memory this was the first thread to seriously address this topic, but it was "back in the day" a bit now.

Still brilliant info from the doc though. http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/vi ... php?t=9215

I made the new side covers from 1mm alum propeller plate. Got it from bunnings for $75 . Being the first time I've ever used an angle grinder to cut such long edges made me pretty nervous, but they actually turned out ok, could have been better. Just don't zoom in to close on 'em and it's all good. ...

It goes from 0 to 50 kph in 2 seconds, gotta lean forward to keep the front wheel on the road, nice !

Don't get the wrong idea about that though, I always ride at sub 20 kph around pedestrians.
