Re: Will California END Recycling?

The whole recycling thing is a crock of ----, they have people convinced that spending a year of their lives sorting trash will save the planet.

Re: anyone Ever Fixed an alternator?

I always fixed my alternators. There are places that sell the parts, repair places and auto part stores. The last one I fixed was my VW buggy, replaced the regulator, everything else was good in the alternator. I always work on my own stuff, makes you real familiar with what is going on and you usua...

Re: Magnet glue.

So far the gorilla glue is holding.

The motor magnets never get hot, so temperature with the glue should not be a issue.

Magnet glue.

I had a couple of magnets come loose inside my outrunner. I have tried two types of epoxy (JB weld was one of them), but they did not work. I just tried Gorilla glue, polyurethane foaming type to see if it will work. I ran the motor a little with the Gorilla glue, but I expect it to fail too. Each t...

Re: Is overvolting rc motor from 15v to 24v okay???

Until it burns up. Heat is the killer. As long as the motor is not being overheated, you should be OK. You crank up the voltage, your going to want to drop the amperage, which should work for you as you cannot provide more then 30 amps into a 50 amp motor. Now the motor is going to spin faster, KV =...

Re: RC brake cut off function?

I found the solution.

On the servo tester, there is a pot that controls the speed. With my servo tester, putting the brake switch (normally closed switch) between one of the "fixed" legs (leg of the pot "without" the wiper) will cut the motor immediately.

RC motor cost.

Where is the "go to" place for a decent RC motor at a reasonable price? My first RC build I bought a motor from Value Hobby. It is a 200KV, 10S, 3,000 watt, 10mm shaft, for $50.00. It looks like they don't carry that motor anymore. I started looking around and I'm seeing nothing that is that inexpen...

Re: RC brake cut off function?

I looked at the page that came with the ESC and it does not look like there is a program for "loss of signal". Yeah, I was thinking of a heavy duty cut off for the battery power. I'm also contemplating a dead man's cut off switch. One thing I'm going to try is, getting the servo tester to think that...

Re: RC brake cut off function?

I looked into the brake function on my ESC, it will only stop the motor from spinning. This is used in the RC airplane world to either let the prop windmill or not windmill. On my Ebike build, this will not do anything, as the motor is not engaged when slowing the bike down. The motor is not fixed t...

Brake function on the ESC, I will check. This is my first RC build, so all this stuff is new to me. Is there a RC tutorial?

RC brake cut off function?

I hooked up my brake cut off switches to the power supply for the servo tester. It works, but the motor cut off is delayed. Instead of guessing has anyone addressed this already and knows where to cut off the motor instantly?

At CES this year, there was a drone that could carry one person on display. It's a actual flying drone. No details on endurance or anything. It has a pod in the center of four arms with eight motors and props.

People are willing to put up with it because, that is where the jobs are. I can imagine most of that traffic is work related traffic. Kinda like watching ants.

Looks like the potentiometer style throttles were used in these: : Early Currie, GT, Mongoose and schwinn brand scooters with brushless motor.

Re: RC throttle interface build tutorial........

This thread is very confusing. Can someone clear up some things for me. 1) When a throttle is talked about, from my understanding there are two basic choices, a Hall Effect throttle and a Resistance (Pot, potentiometer) throttle of 5,000 ohms (5K ohm). Which throttle is being used in this build wher...

RC motor build?

So I got my Giant LaFree with my RC motor running. The motor will run on anywhere from 4S to 10S, what should I be shooting for? At a lower voltage, I figure it will pull more amps. Is there a sweet spot for these RC motors? The motor is a 200KV, 3,000 watt motor. At real low RPM's this thing has to...

I used to work at a motor repair shop and we used to dip and bake motor winding's all the time. If you can get the short taken care of, just shellac it with some air dry stuff.
