Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w
Here are some throttle setting instruction I got from Jon. I haven't played around with them yet, but I hope it helps others. APP setting (FAQs) 1. How to adjust the responsiveness of throttle: e.g. when riding with PAS and use with throttle, there is a delay. To adjust, please increase the value of...

I can log in on my android, but the app won't connect to the controller. It just doesn't show up in the app. My phone sees the controller in the bluetooth settings, but it won't pair.

Lenk, I'm in the same boat as you and also wanting to adjust some of the settingscand smooth out the throttle response. I haven't changed anything yet as i can't set the lastvsettings on the beta app as well. I did get some throttle settings to try from Jon to try with my instructions for the firmwa...

Re: GNG / CYC X1 Pro 3000w
Lenk, I got an account fine, but the app doesn't see the controller. My phone sees it, but it won't pair. I hope they update it soon to fix it. The beta app works, but is very basic and not user friendly. Also, I'd like to get my speedo in mph since I'm in the states now. I'd also like to see some o...

I've been able to uae the beta app, but can't get the stock app to connect. I'm using a samsung galaxy 9 and i tried an sg6 as well. I am enjoy...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400
I've had troubling experience with shipping out of China with these stuff. I'm going to Hong Kong in two months to pick up one of this kit from GNG themselves. Anyone thinks TSA will not let this on a jumbojet checked baggage to the US? No batteries of course, just the motor kit. TSA says power too...

I would bet on that frame, you could get a GNG above the down tube instead of under it.

by flyinmonkie » Sat Aug 24, 2013 7:21 am If done right, chain is not noisy. You need to stay away from small sprockets and get it aligned well. Why would you say that when Christerjung has just done a high voltage GNG chain drive and it is noisy as an RC motor, maybe even more then a cyclone as RC...

Re: New GNG Mid Drive Brushless 60V650W
If done right, chain is not noisy. You need to stay away from small sprockets and get it aligned well. The cyclone will always have a high pitch whine due to the straight cut gears in the planetary reduction. From reading the posts, the GNG is far easier to install than the cyclone. Especially the o...

Re: geared kona dirt jump frame SOLD
Noise is subjective. I ran mine at 50v off the charger. Yes there is gear noise from the gear box, but it was not as loud as my brushed currie motor. I have not heard a hub in person, but in all the videos I have watched, they are far from silent. The biggest difference is the pitch. The cyclone has...

The bike has sold. I have told the new owner about the sphere and will give him a link to this thread so he has more history. I may be quite for 3 or 4 months now, but I'll be starting a new build or 2 once I get settled in the US. Looking forward to building a couple of new bikes. they should be go...

Glad you're having fun in WI Greg. I'll be in that neck of the woods permanently just in time for winter. I'll have a new bike or 2 made up by next summer though.

Re: Motor has no torque problem please help!
You definitely need to adjust the gearing. You either need to build a gear reduction from the motor to the crank. Or change the crank sprockets. Or change the final drive sprockets. It will all depend on if you want to pedal along with the motor, or want the motor to even drive through the crank. Th...

Re: Motor has no torque problem please help!
Have you adjusted the gearing to compensate for not having the gear reduction in the motor? That could drastically change the feel of the bike and be very destructive to your controller if you haven't.

Email cyclone tw and ask for the actual shipping cost. Their website shipping calculator puts everything way over priced. Paco should give you a reasonable price then.

Re: geared kona dirt jump frame SOLD
Well... it is time to sell this bike, as I am moving back to the US and it will be too much of a pain to bring it with me. It is all finished except painting the box, if one wanted too. It is a great solid bike and will be sold with an extra set of slick tires and the hyperion 1420i charger and powe...

Re: GNG, 1000W 48V BB-drive, $400
I want to convert my 9 speed derailleur setup to a 1 speed with a solid chain tensioner, since I am getting a lot of chain skipping/dropping when accelerating hard/jumping and I'll be upgrading to 100v soon which will make the problem even worse. I was thinking of using the DMR STS single speed kit...

Re: Schneeveis-Drive, left-side DD non-hub with derailleur g
I don't see a dérailleur on the hub motor or a way to take up the chain slack if you were to change gears. It also looks like what I am guessing is a chain guide is in the way of the pedals, making them non functioning. Of course this is just from looking at the pic you posted spinning.

If you are ordering from paco at cyclone.tw, then you need to email him for a shipping quote. The website calculated shipping is wrong. Most people have had a good experience dealing with him.

Re: geared kona dirt jump frame
Finally got the last 4 batteries put in. Was super easy to just slot them in the box and plug them in the bus bars. I now have a total of 23.2 ah. I haven't had a chance to ride yet as I let all the cells even out and then balanced them. That is it except paint, but I don't think I'll paint it. I ca...

Re: geared kona dirt jump frame
The first bike I made went through the crank. I hated it. It was a lot harder to gear the motor to the crank speed. I also did not like the crank sprocket spinning while I wasn't pedaling. With my current set up I can adjust the motor gearing and the pedal gearing independently and therefore It is m...

Re: GNG 450 brushless Mid Drive - Primary Drive Modification
rp3 Like christer said check your alignment, also lube the chain. I have a #25 primary drive chain on my bike (not GNG) and it gets louder when it needs to be lubed. For tension, there should be a bit of flex in the chain when you push on it with your finger. It is not like a belt that you want real...
