how complicated is rewiring a cyclone 3kw mid motor

Hello EV friends, i might have the chance to get a cheap burned out cyclone 3000w mid drive motor but i'm not sure if i could repair/rewire it and safe a lot money or if i'd just waste my money. So i'd like to know about your experience or assessment about how hard or complicated it is to rewire tha...

Re: Less volts means more range, amps and torque ?

why people don't go crazy with voltages above 100v is that you might not have enough torque because there aren't enough parallel connections ? 3) the less you load the battery, the longer it lasts. So a 100A battery isn’t the best for a 100A controller. Thanks a lot for your reply larsb, you made s...

Re: Less volts means more range, amps and torque ?

Not coutning how you actually *use* a particular EV, volts vs amphours (not amps!!) makes no difference to your range. Your range is determined by the total Wh (watthour) you have, which is volts x amphours, and that number is identical no matter which way you hook up the same number of cells. How ...

Re: Less volts means more range, amps and torque ?

Well, if you already have the motor, you choose your serial count dependent on desired speed, then pack in as many parallel as possible. More volts produces more speed - more torque but less volts - more Ah sustains better torque = more efficient torque. Speed is the major factor in range, not volt...

Less volts means more range, amps and torque ?

Hello EV friends, We know that volts x amps = watts. But that means it could be 100v and 10a or 10v and 100a and you get the same watts but different motor behaviour. So if your bike frame allows space for 120 cells you have different options of parallel and serial connections and also the cells you...

Single speed? Yeah unfortunately it looks like I’ll have to use a single speed No, i took a 6 speed freewheel and it works fine. I even got it in my standart 135mm dropout ;) I’d like to see a picture of your motor in your bike if you have time to post a pic. Did you ever build the bigger battery y...

Re: Battery switches off at full throttle

Another question i need help with... Does someone know what controller settings have to be chosen in my case ? I hope i got the first four set correct already ? But what about the other ones ? I'd think that i could set them as high as i want because it could never get too much with my week battery ...

The official information also says you can take a 6 speed freewheel. I took the SHIMANO MF-TZ500 and it works fine

I understand your decision with the mxus 3k. The weight and the size of the qs205 were the same reason i bought a mxus https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=109237 Nice, so what winding did you go with? How’s the torque?it sound like we have similar situation except the wheel s...

Re: Battery switches off at full throttle

Why do you think "anything above 12A is killing that pack" ? because i have tested these cells and have already repaired some from other people that were less then a year old but completly shot. these are laptop cells, not high drain cells. the hit on lifecycles is simply too high to run ...

Re: Maxus 3000w 5T

Hello everyone! Before I ask my questions I will give some specs on what I’m running now on my E bike. Battery 84v 20amphour sabvoton controller running at 60amps. The BMS 60a. The rear hub motor I’m using now is 1500w csc with Statrade and HubSink’s. My top speed is 50 mph on flats which is plenty...

Re: Low torque with a strange noise on start.

My setup is hub motor QS 205 2000W 72v, Votol em100 and 20S21P li ion. The bike have a very low torque and strange noise on start. There is a stuttering acceleration if I give throttle from stand still. When the bike is running, everything is smooth. I've tried to ask in votol em100 thread, but the...

I have an old Crystalyte 404 with a 16" rim that I am planning to use in a pusher-trailer project. I want to add Statorade and add a temperature sensor. Some questions for the group: What's the best way to pull the side housing off? I can get it off by about 1/4" with flat blade screwdriv...

Re: Battery switches off at full throttle

As i can't return my battery pack and don't won't do harm it, i'll just set the settings to 48 amps continuous and 78 Amps peak and hope this will avoid the problem with the battery :)
Or does anyone have another solution ?

Thanks for your help

Re: Battery switches off at full throttle

That setup will not do 150A. Even 50A is pushing it with those cells if you want any reasonable amount of cycles out of them. The bms triggers on LVC at that load. Pulling that current from this pack is basically just making a dead short. The specs of this pack are utterly made up. It will not last...

Sounds like 35E cells . They seem to be the go-to cell to push those capacity claims for prefabbed packs. That's a lot of amps for a 6P configuration with those . Sag into LVC sounds very likely.
Thanks for your reply Dak77,
you're right. 6p of 35E cells will never ever do 150 amps :D

Battery switches off at full throttle

Hello EV friends, i built a e bike with a mxus 3k turbo, a sabvoton 72150 and a 20s6p pack with a 50A BMS. The seller claims that peak is 150A, but i got told it's unrealistic. My problem is that if i go full throttle it does wheelies but suddenly everything is "dead" and can't be switched...

Re: Right settings for regenerative charge ?

If it helps anyone in any way, with Sabvoton controller the regen power depends on your actual speed . I have my regen set to 200 Phase amps.... At 60-70 kmph this means about 3000W regen (40 battery amps, give or take, at 72V) At near stop (eg stopping at red lights) the regen force is nearly non-...

to be safe you could put charge current at 6amps (6amps x 72v=432watts of regen braking)

what would electric brake phase current be? 10amps???
Thanks a lot for your reply goatman,
so how did you get to 6 or 10 amps ? Is there a calculation behind it or is it just by feeling or experience ?

Re: Right settings for regenerative charge ?

If the battery pack's max charge limit is 5A, then that's a good reasonable limit for regen to keep the battery safe. It may not do much at that low a current, though, so if you are expecting a lot of braking power or energy recovery, you may be disappointed. hmm, that are not the best news. I thou...

Re: Simple PAS to throttle converter using an Arduino Nano

So it does quite the same thing that i tried to do with the arduino converter right ? This *is* the arduino converter. If you're talking about the SW900 display, that's just a display for specific compatible controllers (probably not including sabvoton, but you can check with the manufacturer if yo...
