Re: Insane RPM @ 120% on a 20" Pie.. 48v battery.

The issue exists in that it open up to WOT when I apply about 3/4 applied throttle in 120% mode. It is nice to have it as a boost switch, but you get a bit of a sore neck running it like this as a default setting, the bike takes off like a rocket in 120% speed mode. Im almost getting 150% increases ...

Re: Insane RPM @ 120% on a 20" Pie.. 48v battery.

Check it out the frequency is 7 tones higher so the RPM must over 25% faster in 120% mode.

Insane RPM @ 120% on a 20" Pie.. 48v battery.

I have a 48v 20ah NMC battery hooked up to an Ecrazy 12 fet controller, running a 20" cast pie, and at 120% speed setting at 3/4 throttle the wheel RPM just goes insane and hits the roof.. So I set it up to 100% and the issue vanishes and the wheel runs perfectly normal. I ran a switch out from the ...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

A GREAT SUGGESTION? Like the fans, instead, rivet the fin halfway covering the vent over every second hole then pull it up so it shaped like a scoop then on the inside of the plate do the same so the scoop removes the air.

Re: Limiting power of controller (cheaply)

If you like wasting 20kw of energy burning rubber, a few more watts on a peltier cooler wont break the bank. They are light and in this respect efficient for drag racing and the shorter runs where a larger pack is only required for amps and not long distance, The anti peltier efficiency argument was...

Re: Limiting power of controller (cheaply)

You can remove a shunt. It works well on some controllers. I had one issue with V dropping as the logic power came from the controller. I ran bypass wires from the battery, as far back in the circuit, even before the BMS is practical to get the most accurate battery measurements.

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

Even if the motor is not running or running slowly the out side area of most hub motors have plenty of room to give off heat, they are generally just made to achieve high RPM with as little wind resistance. The sealed motor works well for those who like to save juice, which in itself is an interesti...

Re: MXUS 3000 Hub Motor

I thought the side plates was already made from good thermal conductive material, the issue of having to make it water proof like this would make it handy just to put heat sink inside on the side plate that collects heat and acts as a fan, thermal paste to help, and another on the out side of the si...

Re: Chinese Electric Scooter Log

The initial torque, is the shunts im sure of it, but Im not sure what I am seeing on the shunts, solder, clipper marks and scratches, this has been altered in too many ways to understand. One if not two of those shunts may not be even part of the original part. I think you can fix the controller pro...

Re: Chinese Electric Scooter Log

Possibly the result of all that solder on those shunts, if three are required and you sunk 48v with over current into the stator caused LVC and a spike from the motor came back and ouch. That kind of controller and those fets work for 36v and I see a lot of failures on 48v systems with regen enabled...

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Ahhh now I get ya, youre talking about an entire different thing. The point I make is you loose farad when you series them and that you do. Any way thats what I ment. I didnt say joules you did. I put to you But what if you could maintain Farad? This is my entire argument. So now your version of 100...

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Put it this way, as it is been discovered Farad increases with voltage, like if you charge a 10f cap to 5v and it is rated at 10v I theories it only has 2.5f of energy. But when you series say 2 caps, you cant use this formula because you aint doubling the voltage of a single cap.

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Something tells me C*V^2/2 broken when comparing the Joules to F in series.

As both caps linearly discharge at the same time. Not like batteries where the voltage holds. Your missing a number or a function near V.

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Series. @20v 1/ct=1/10f+1/10f .1+.1= .2 1/.2=5f @20v ---- Parallel. @10v ct=c+c 10+10=20f @10v Condensed, 10v @ 20f ...VS... 20v @ 5f, which one is better? The conclusive capacitance is quadruple in farad, by adding them in Parallel, as opposed to in series, but only double the voltage in series vs ...

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

It is an interesting subject some are trying very hard to avoid discussing.. If I parallel 2*10v 10 farad caps, I get 10v 20 farad, if I series them I get 20v 5 farad, ummm. Der. What I think Luke is missing, is when you add batteries in series you dont lose capacity of each cell but when you series...

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Sorry last post was the trolls, but what goes around will eventually come around. Ok what if I store 5 watts in one capacitor, and 5 watts in another and then series them. Do I get 10 watts or 5 watts return? Well potentially yes, but there is the plate distance issue to deal, where does that energy...

Re: EEStor ultracapacitor

Yes its working. And they havent pushed the samples to their maximum. The higher voltages can be used for on grid storage, something about needing silicone to do step down is a challenge but I can think of a few ways to turn UHVDCv into AC with out silicone being used..
