Re: real car companies are finally coming for Tesla

I realize depending on a person's living location they may or may not see many Teslas on the road around them. Here in SoCal though, it's Teslas in all directions. I see the remaining ICE automakers in a mad scramble to try to catch Tesla, but I don't see it happening. They have internal frictional ...

Re: HELP NEEDED - E-WINCH for SPORTS

Pulling things through water at a fun for doing tricks speed takes quite a bit of power (10s of HP). I bet your best bang for the buck would be finding a crashed Zero motorcycle with a working power-train to convert into a snorty winch.

Re: Tesla model S plaid motor 30 lbs, 400 hp perfect high power ebike motor?

After a week, I still get giddy to drive it. The range with it can be >300miles driving gently, but with >1,000hp at your foots discretion, I seem to be averaging around 100-150miles to a charge, but it's the best miles of your life. That's not the cars fault a bit for my low range numbers, just so ...

Re: Tesla model S plaid motor 30 lbs, 400 hp perfect high power ebike motor?

I've got to enjoy a few hours of driving a Plaid now, including the drag strip launch mode. O M G The front end lifts up so hard it feels like you're going to wheelie over backwards (I'm sure both wheels are actually on the ground). 1G free fall in vacuum is 9.8m/s^2, or 22mph per second, or 44mph i...

Single helical stage per motor per rear wheel to eliminate the differential is fantastic. Differentials are vestigial internal combustion components. The rear power units from Plaid MS are going to change the hot-rodding world. Perfect traction control thrust maximization per rear wheel, and the ri...

Re: zero motor wanted!

For a go-kart, motor temperature can be tricky, I would recommend you find a 75-10 from a used SR-F/S bike for your go-kart if you're looking for a jumbo upgrade. If you happened across a wrecked/salvaged bike, the motor controller for the SR-F/S is a smaller foot-print and the size6 Sevcon, but aro...

Are there any published or derived specs on the compression pressure - too much is probably as bad as none I communicated to a battery engineer from Zero motorcycles and and 100-psi is a helpful goal. Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Looks like nice hotrodding potential. FET swap for some ~2mOhm parts, and populate fully to 6 per parallel group, and in an identical size and weight package you're running more than 2x continuous power (assuming PCB traces and caps handle it) for the same heat load, with a burst current potential i...
