Re: Transporting heavy ebikes - show me your solution

I went with the future proof 1UP Super Duty Single rack (225 lb total capacity) 1UP Rack.jpg Really nice and well-proportioned without being too far out. No contact with my 710mm handlebars en route. I also use a strapped 600D bike cover for anti-theft (or at least to decrease the chance of crimes ...

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

3rd - a sounder that I can use to trace back to the main panel an outlet to figure out the breaker I need to turn off etc, I guess that's a few steps up from a bobby pin. ;) lol, finding the breaker for an outlet is a game of chance! Op, watch some home electrical repair/upgrade videos and see that...

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

A/C at home - I don't ever need a multi meter for A/C work at home, I use few items, the main one is a tone touch sensor that detects voltage to confirm if the line has power 2nd - a 3 prong plug to test if the outlet is wired right 3rd - a sounder that I can use to trace back to the main panel an o...

Re: DIY ebike conversion 1st 100 miles…

Vibration - sorry, do you have a thumb throttle? if yes, then maybe you can wrap some tennis grip sorta stuff on it and see if that helps? Battery - if you charge a bit at work and it will help extend the life of your batt - so when you get back home, you have couple of bars left, that is if you hav...

Those tiny cracks looks like the heat cracking I see in gun barrels. See if I can dig up a pic.

Op, did you cook the motor ever?

Re: what multimetre should i choose for present cell mesurement and future home task

Before ebikes, I had to read up on lithium battery tech, I found that I needed to figure dc amps with a CLAMP on meter, This one does BOTH DC and AC amps (clamp on) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z398YWF looks like it was a coupon, that makes it sweeter, I would suggest this one or similar, clamp on f...

Re: Searching for a spare/upgrade controller

E-HP,

Good work on figuring out the generic controller,
I skimmed through the other thread and seems this as a programming port, it would be nice if you can turn on regen braking.

I picked up one :-)

Are you going to rebuild the battery?

Re: ebike insurance

From what I have read, it is NOT a good idea to tie your bikes to your home insurance,

Better reg it as a moped and have your auto insurance cover it and get a separate rider.

maybe someone who works in the industry can educate us.

Re: Transporting heavy ebikes - show me your solution

For heavy ebikes I would suggest the one that attaches to the trailer hitch. 100lbs+. You roll on to it with eaz as it has a small ramp you can use and use straps to secure it. https://www.amazon.com/Direct-Aftermarket-Motorcycle-Scooter-Carrier/dp/B014VC5H64 This one is made of steel and is compar...

Op,
I would find out the exact motor model first, the description does not clarify the exact model they are selling you.
List the major part and price them out and see if you are not paying a HUGE markup.

Good Luck

Re: ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LINK TO SOURCE GOOD LITHIUM CELLS

Can you buy tool batteries? like dewalt, ryobi etc?
that might work for you, I use a spade connector to tap into the tool battery and use an inline switch to to switch the power if needed.

I want to w-RAP my triangle - HDPE?

I read Kingfish's thread on his 2wd build and he used HDPE to wrap his bike.
I have no experience in working with HDPE,

What thickness should I go for?

here is my downtube triangle

Bike is nearly done, wrap for triangle and rear light.

Re: far driver nd72800 vs nd72850

I have this fkin dilemma too. I talked to FD and the 72800 is discontinued. I was deliberating between these two too...now if you look at it the 850 is an altogether different beast it has larger casw and 36 Fets and only 50 amps more. I think they crossed the line with the 800. 800 amps is way too...
