Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

Haven’t had time today to update controller settings but I did get to take the second controller apart. It’s definitely a 72v controller with 100v caps so shouldn’t be any issues running at higher voltage. https://i.ibb.co/bPf14S6/290-BFBF7-6053-4644-BA18-E07-C9-B7-DADA7.jpg https://i.ibb.co/3CrcP3...

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

What about shunting it? Surely that would deliver more amps?

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

I might start pricing up a bigger battery or go for a similar one to increase range. I don’t want to sink too much into it.

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

That’s absolutely brilliant, well done. I’ve seen on other controllers where they set the max to 130-140%, will it let you enter that value? The hub motor should easily be able to take it.

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

There’s a download for vector controller software here

https://goldenmotor.bike/product/vector ... ontroller/
I can’t check if it can be used on various others.

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

I wonder if a sabvoton Bluetooth dongle would work, or another make?

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

The Bosch one I saw is usb to ttl. Is there an iPad app or anything we could download to try it? All my devices are Apple, so would have to to be iPhone, MacBook or iPad based. I think we are onto something here.

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

Yeah it’s a two speed switch, around 15mph then I get 34-36mph on setting two. Mines nearly in bits now. Just sanding the side panels. Doing a full respray similar to this.Image

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

I was to D by scooter city that the controllers can be programmed. Does yours have a usb lead running from it? Mine does, but I’m not sure if that’s just a usb power put, I hope it’s a controller interface. There are special Boss usb leads with like a odd/canbus chip in them that I’ve seen online. M...

Re: Chinese Retro Scooter - Running at 72v versus 60v

Just found this: https://www.ugbest.com/product/ecobit-classic-scooter/romex-electric-scooter.html On their scooters it says speed: 45-75kph. That says to me that they set the controllers up in the factory as either 50 or 125cc equivalents. I cannot see them using two different controllers for the s...

Re: Changed something - less power!

Hi All. As usual I've faffed with something and it's gone wrong, lol. I have a generic Chinese scooter (Quazzar/Ecobit 3000W model) and I've recently upgraded from 60V to a 72V Li-ion battery and Sabvoton 72150 controller when the controller died. I have been dialing in the settings and got to wher...
