Re: Big Rotors for brakes required for > 40mph bike

The biggest and most massive rotor you can fit on a bike wheel is the rim... That's quite true. I have the old Magura hydraulic rim brakes on the front and they can stop so hard that your tooth fillings can't stay in. The only down side is that they wear out the rim. You have to keep checking as I ...

... Definitely geared and most definitely didn't have any regen. The Specs say: Battery: 9Ah 36V (324Wh) Samsung Lithium Ion with Regeneration If it is a geared motor with a sprague clutch in it then there is no regen. My reading of the spec says that the battery (or more appropiately, the BMS) is ...

Sorry to disagree, they are not WW posts, they are too small when compared with the size of the 3AG slow bow fuse. (I worked for NEC when WW was the rage and did quite a few WW frames).
I think they may be another version of PCB test points. But that's a guess.

Re: Front MAC or BPM in Australia? Globe Daily bike..

G'day Sam,
Check out Ben Moore. He sells Bafang geared motors like the one he and FullThrottle were riding when we did the Yarra trail ride. They have reasonable acceleration and run quietly. He has spare ring gears and planet gear assemblies too.

Hi Sam,
I can come in my 'Death' outfit with a fair dinkum scythe. 8) I'll have to figure out a way to hitch up the robe to be 'Death on a bike' or maybe just ride side-saddle.
A reflector vest may look a bit daggy though.

Re: Diodes for parallel battery hook-up- Yes or No?

IMHO never parallel them if there is a BMS on each pack. Common the negative leads of the two packs and use a beefy "Break Before Make" change-over switch between the two positive leads. Battery Change-over Switch.jpg Some extra benefits of this way will give you a better indication of weather you'l...

Re: Will I make it home? 48V 12AH... 25km..

Hi Andy, Yes, I was infected by the "grin" and just loved the woosh. It's easy to get carried away. The CA senses the current through the shunt resistor and controls the total current by over-riding and limiting the throttle voltage. It's a bit soggy with the control due to the sampling time, so you...

Re: Will I make it home? 48V 12AH... 25km..

It looks like you may be running pretty close to the limit. I run a 48V 15AH Ping battery on a 408 on a 27Km commute which regularly gobbles up 1000W on starts and hills even with me adding my bit. I hardly ever leave it to the motor to do all the work as It feels too stupid to not be pedalling. The...
