Re: direct wireing a 12v car heater to a solar panel

fizzit wrote:Yes you could. But... why? Solar panels are only about 20% efficient. A piece of cardboard painted black is close to 100% efficient as a heater.
I was thinking of doing it for my small room
In my house then maby upgrade with batteries
later on. im not sure it would be worth it though.

direct wireing a 12v car heater to a solar panel

I was wondering if you could hook a 150w 12v car
heater directly to a 200w panel?

Re: Does the cycle life of lipo go down if you charge to4.2v

I have 4 6s hobby king nano tech lipos. I balance charge them every time to 4.2v cause my charger wont adjust to 4.15v. So I guess its ok as long as I balance charge them to 4.2v.

Re: I'm done with LIPO technology! Dumping it now!

Why would charging to 4.2v per cell reduce the life of the pack? I never discharge my pack below3.5v but when it comes to charging I can't set my charger to 4.1. The charger I have is a hyperion duo2 12s charger. If I could adjust it to 4.1v I would but I don't think I can so 4.2v is what ill have t...

Re: interesting tech

Ya, i have some 30 to 50c 6ah nano techs that can do 300a bursts. Just think of the same battery at 400c would = 2400a.
25v x 2400a = 60,000watts 60,000w / 750w = 80 hp but good luck finding a controller to handle that :)

Re: interesting tech

Its just unbelievable that one nimh battery with 3800 miliamp or 3.8 amp hour could discharge at 1000c. That would be 3,800 amps if im not mistaken  And will that battery get warm or hot at 200c or 500c :?: There just way to many unanswered questions with there claims of such high c rates. I ...

Re: interesting tech

Dunno but why'd you want to use nimh anyways? Spendy, heavy, very toxic, memory effect, etc :/ I'd like to see it applied to lifepo4. Then you can have your cake ( safety ) and eat it too ( ludicrous discharge/charge rates ). I dont know I was just curious if the cycle life might go up with this te...
