Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

I'm still recovering from a recent crash during a MX race, so I decided to spend some time to improve my rendering skills.

yes, I designed the steering column to fold on the foot board - Just need to replace one bolt with a removable pin

the bolt you see will be joined by 30mm outer specers that will pack the whole assembly when properly tighten - I will share more detailed image later

Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

by the way, I did calculations also without the shock mount constraint and the results are quite similar. This is because the loss of rigidity starts on the rear half of the swingarm, where the wheel does not allow for trinagulations (see colors in the FEM images below)

Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

BigBlock I think your simulation setup are wrong, don't lock the movement of the shock fixation. because shock will not take any torque or lateral force in real life. Just lock the main pivot in all direction ( and rotation), if your force are correctly apllied, it will don't want to rotate around ...

Re: 10kW, custom cut aluminum frame, QS205, full suspension

I agree that heat treatment is too complex and expensive for most DIY builders - it make sense if you weld in a jig that hold firm the part and remove the part from the jig once post treated in the hoven. Ususally when you weld on aluminum tubes (especially going on the longitudinal plane of the tub...

Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

the complete swingarm design is based on 3 cross steel rods that connect through a spacer the two arms and that will add stiffness to the whole assembly. The bottom rod is placed as close as possible to the wheel.... there is no any further space to cross-brace the swingarm in the rear area, where t...

Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

the type of design I use is based on billet piece of aluminium that have stronger and stiffer properties when compared to sheetmetal or tube welding fabrication. The disavantage is more weight if not proper engineered, because usually you have a lot of useless material where not needed. I use FEM ca...

Re: 10kW, custom cut aluminum frame, QS205, full suspension

are you welding with MIG or TIG ? you should try to limit the lenght of weldings where possible - I don't know how you managed the deformations on the piece - your weldings look very big and I guess the pieces got a lot of heat during the process. Unless you have a post stress relief thermal treatme...

Re: xKillah - Enduro eBike

Hi, impresive project, your front frame is in one part? do you have another view where we can see more? don't really understand how do you plan to mill the frame. it's different parts bolted togheter; making a solid headtube connection without welding it's a bit triky. I have to do some FEM analisy...

Great project and should come out very nice seeing your other build :thumb: Why not use the QS138 70H with build in reduction?: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=110723 I tried, but it's too wide and I would have to make the frame wider - I also looked to this one: MEMAX 17...

Hi, after having completed my first stand-up scooter project , I thought it's time for a new challenge... Re: QSMOTOR,0.5-12kW Electric Hub Motor & Mid Drive Motor Manufacture China

Hi,
any chance to have a 3D CAD model of the QS138 70H v3 (with gearing sprocket) ?

It will help many of us to design the frame bracket meanwhile waiting the delivery.

Thanks.

Re: EXTREMO - Scratch built 7kW billet frame scooter

I did a quick modelling in 3D to find the right spot. It was a little bit triky and I end up with a similar setup seen on Dualtron and other scooter of that size. There is litellary no space to put it in a more hidden spot. I finally managed approx 30 degree of steering - the dumper will work also a...

I got a couple of ND72330 rated @ 150A and I would say they work quite well - Very easy to configure. They provide an auto-learn features to accelerate the initial process. So far so good.
