Very interesting! Maybe you can try to use less complex models instead of training heavy CNN?
yes correct, for the self-balancing inference only a simple regression model is needed (it doesn't need to look at the video frames for that).

my cnn is based on nvidia's model: https://devblogs.nvidia.com/deep-learning-self-driving-cars/ inference takes < 20ms (throttle, brake and steering) on google pixel xl (though i've only trained on a game sim). i'm also using opencv in a webassembly worker to detect cars, lanes and orb features (pre...

Re: Self-balancing electric bike

i am adding autonomous capability to my bike (Duty Cycle) and i can say that self-balancing (while rolling) is possible. i have trained a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) using Tensorflow.js on mobile and have it running in a game simulator. Right now I am only capturing/training on video, throttl...

you are absolutely correct! i am now getting the correct CRC checksum values using 0x0 as the first byte. thanks very much...now onto the deserialization... :)

Re: VESC Open Source - Android App Features?!?!

thanks pf26. the code i posted is a function and i'm only passing the payload "4" as a string into the function so it's basically a 1 char length array ['4']. i am not that familiar with crc. am i making a mistake in passing the literal decimal value character? CRC calculation starts from the data b...

hi pf26. i've tried sending only the 2nd frame 02 01 04 40 84 03...no reply. i will try sending the 2 frames spaced a few ms apart. i am using setTimeout(function() { bluetoothSerial.read(0 }, 3000) after the write success. i have also tried read() in a delayed loop, bluetooth.readUntil('\n'), bluet...

hi hillz, i'll push my app to github after i get the serial working (https://github.com/bchiu). you can fork the code and do as you like (i'm all for personal commercial development---ppl need to eat). which controller are you using? i think it will require more than a little massaging. at this poin...

Re: VESC Open Source - Android App Features?!?!

hi subcreative, that's a good suggestion since a lot of ppl (like myself) have not touched c in ages. i've started a hybrid cordova app. the realtime dash is about 80% done but the config and serial/bt is still w.i.p. (haven't pushed it to github yet because it's still undergoing some major refactor...

it "was" a custom QS motor--would constantly overheat and finally blew the phase wires. now it's running a custom motor made by 9C with upgraded magnets/phase wires. they hired a pro rider and raced in superbike class couple weeks ago at the track in southern taiwan. passed a duc1199 (will post a vi...

man, you guys are curious, can't a guy keep any secrets? :lol: the axles were shortened and tapped for M10 bolts--RH thread on one side, LH on the other so the plugs tighten when driven (don't try this with regen!). unscrew the bolts/sleeves and the motor pops right out. this is the 2nd revision of ...
