Re: Reprogrammed 6fet stalling

So you set the board type to EB218? That will actually lower your current limit (a lot) because it tells the microprocessor to expect a much lower shunt value.
You get maximum current on a 6 fet board when it is programmed as a 6 fet board.

Re: infineon 18 fets''houston wii have a problem'' (updated)

With a 230 mohm shunt you should get about twice the current that it shows in the software. That standard 4 wire shunt that is fitted to the 18 fet boards is much higher than that and results a pretty low current limit. You can increase the current limit quite a lot by programming the board as a sma...

You need a precharge resistor with that controller, that will help to prevent further capacitor damage.

Do you know what value your shunt is?

Re: Programming 12Fet Infineon Controllers

The Magura will work if connected correctly with the right resistors.
What voltage range do you get on the signal wire (brown/green)? The Infineon expects around 1V at no throttle and 4V at WOT.

Re: Programming 12Fet Infineon Controllers

Have you got the full 5V? My 5V line drops to about 4.5V when I plug in the throttle.
Do you get a voltage out of the throttle signal wire when you twist it?

I've been thinking about this a bit laterally, and wondering whether sniffing the bidirectional serial data link to the controller might yield a way to reverse engineer the programme? What I have in mind is to intercept the two serial data streams (the data transmitted to the controller from the PC...

Re: Beta Testers Wanted On Updated Lyen Controller Program @

Those members who simply want to increase the current limit above the levels available in their existing software don't actually need this new version. Simply program your board with a lower board type setting, this will increase the current limit, e.g changing the setting from EB218 to EB212 will a...

You don't really need the higher current settings, you can get the same result by programming as a lower board type e.g. EB212 or EB206.

Re: How to wire a push-button full throttle switch?

Ktronic, you should really have a reverse biased diode across the relay coil to protect your controller againsts the back EMF when the coil is de-energized.
You may already have one but it's not shown on your diagram.

Re: Pre-Charge Resistor help

Once the controller caps are charged the current flowing through the pre-charge resistor is almost zero and once the main switch is on the current would be almost un-measurably small.

Re: Pre-Charge Resistor help

The only real reason to leave it plugged in is so you don't have the loose wires floating around. Using a permanent connection and a switch eliminates this problem.

Re: 18 fet controller VERY strange problem!

Saw what sounds like the same fault a few weeks ago on an older 18 FET board (EB818). All MOSFETs were ok but one of the driver transistors (marked Y2) had blown short circuit and also the 91 ohm resistor next to it had blown open.

Hi Wookey, I took my wheel sensor off and wired directly into the controller. If you want it PM me your address down there in Cambridge and I'll drop it in the post.

Re: How to calibrate your custom shunt?

Doing it the way you describe above is just fine. What you do need to do though is connect the controller to the batteries normally first to charge the caps. The sudden in-rush current when connecting a discharged controller will be too much for your multimeter.

Re: CA connection to 206 board HE pin, no NPN

Switching the 5V doesn't work on the EB2xx series boards, you have to switch the GND.

Alternatively you can keep the switch closed and plug in after you have hit transmit. You have to plug in at an angle so that the 5V pins contact first.

How are you initiating the transmit? Do you have a switch in the GND line or are you using the plug-in method?

Re: CA connection to 206 board HE pin, no NPN

I would ignore the HE connection and solder the speed wire straight to one of the hall connections. I don't know the 6 fet board well but if it is the same the 12 and 18 fet versions then for the throttle override connection see Geoff57's post here. http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php...

Re: 18 fets controller 100V 100A trouble

Hi BlackArrow.
When does the problem occur? Is it when the ignition (MCU power) wire is powered up or when the main power feed is applied?
I very much doubt that any component fault on the MCU side of the controller could cause a 10 amp PSU to trip out.
