Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

You guys see this? Bet that guy had to change his shorts after that. Probably made a pretty loud bang. At least the battery didn't seem to burn. The main circuit breaker is pretty hard to trip. It has to be overloaded for some time before it heats up enough to trip. That thing blew quickly and the ...

Can you post a picture of how the button is mounted?

Also, some reports indicate the "fixed" version of BBSHD firmware will also work on the BBS02 but I can't confirm.

Nice side car! I like the Impala hood ornament. Those may be quite valuable and prone to theft.

I could imagine putting a second hub motor on the side car and lots of batteries inside.

Re: Destruction Derby Car Build

Those wheel motors don't look too bad. 8kW each should at least move a car. A very stripped down, lightened car would go a lot faster. For sure those would be the most flexible for mounting and could work on almost anything.

Re: DIY Toroidal Axial Flux PM

Looking nice! If you made the slots narrow right at the top, you'd have to stuff the wires through the narrow part when winding but it would help keep the copper in place after it was wound. Old-school brushed motors often had "keepers" made of stiff fish paper that slid over the copper an...

Re: Destruction Derby Car Build

Just get the whole power train from a Leaf or other available EV. Maybe find one that was rear-ended. The batteries on those are the first thing to get recycled, so I'm sure you'd have to find a battery separately. If you only need 10 miles range, a much smaller battery will work. No matter what, it...

Re: Using a lead acid charger on a Lithium pack

And doesnt the BMS control that at stop it from charging that high? Maybe, maybe not. The BMS shouldn't be relied upon to control the charging end point. It is there as a safety backup if the charger fails. If the BMS doesn't cut off at 4.2v on a cell, you run the risk of pack fire. Many chargers h...

Sure looks like a 17s board.

It will probably work by taking the cell 16 and cell 17 connections and tie them together. You just don't want to leave any wires floating.

Re: Power Spikes - Modifying Ninebot Controller

Disconnect the motor wires and measure resistance between the wires (all combinations). A shorted FET will give you a short between a pair of motor wires. Good FETs will measure like a diode, near shorted in one direction and open in the other direction.

Re: A2B Metro (Gen 1) Restoration and Upgrade

Yes, the A2B Excel was labelled/sold as an 'Electric Scooter' and appears to have been fitted with an 800W version of the UltraMotor. I guess the controller was in the frame: It says main battery 48v, so that's how they got more power. I ran mine at 52v for a year before I did the external controll...

Cool, I've never seen one like that. Around here it would be legal on the street, but not on the trails. You'd be sort of screwed with that one if you hit any kind of hills like I deal with. Great for flat ground.

That sounds pretty close to a Sur-ron motor. Not a hub motor, but they have a good track record. I could not find specifications ....I send them an e-mail.....do you have the specifications?.... Check out this page: https://www.sur-ron.com/us/power.html Keep in mind the power rating of an electric ...

I was able to set my falling edge and rising edge on the zero crossing of my sensor signal. How do I find stator U to Rotor Sensor U by test. I replaced the freewheel on mine with a new one that was the same tooth count as the original. I really can't hear it much. You really want the pedals to work if you want to avoid issues with stupid cops. Also handy when the electric drive fails. On mine, I can assist the motor up to about 20mph in ...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

I have what look like the same signal lights. I had to place a load resistor across the amber input to ground to make the flasher work. I think I used 150 ohm resistors. It's pretty common to need load resistors when using LED lights with a flasher. My load resistors were installed in the rear signa...

Look for bent pins. 12h is a current sensor fault, indicating the current signal voltage coming from the shu...
