Re: Suzuki RF400E, now with Enertrac MHM602

2000km update. Life (house purchase) gets in the way but the bike's been fine as a commuter. Consumption is less than 10 kWh/100km at the plug since switchting to the HLGs. Lifetime consumption now 10.81 kWh/100km. Spent €30... :) Details on my Spritmonitor page . niggles I had: - had to re-solder c...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

Wouldn't hurt to ask :)
commercial version not really viable as costs explode - there would be an overhead (read: barrier) to maintain a number of editors' accounts :(

Edit: found https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Co ... MediaWiki/ interesting. Can import but is Java-based :?

Re: Motor selection: sortable table in the Wiki - now 88 entries

Sorry mate, edited live in the Wiki. There was very little detail on bicycle hub motors as well, they are often not well documented. Edit: Archive.org to the rescue! https://web.archive.org/web/20180204034042/https://endless-sphere.com/w/index.php/Electric_Motor_Selection Edit2: looked for other mot...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

I also work in open source, but name a single site that publishes complete backups to the public. I have never heard of such a thing. Anyway, this would relinquish people's control of their content because anyone could spin up their own ES and run it and claim it's the real one. Another thing is th...

Re: How many of you really use the wiki?

That's a bummer - I spent a good bit of time collecting the motor overview data and learned how to make a sortable table in the Wiki. easily 30 hours - plan was to have a DB with all available motors, similar to the intent of https://www.board-db.org/... Question is if the effort is pointless or if ...

Re: An off-grid install in the city

Yes, we know batteries are consumables, but if you read the first post you will see that 1) he had acquired the batteries for free and 2) the workshop had not been connected to the grid for 3 years, meaning it was an expensive process to get it reconnected. 3) a workshop with no grid connection pay...

Looking at the slides your speed is voltage limited to 100kmh. I assume the Kelly controller does not have field weakening ?
Correct, it's a fairly "stupid" old thing.

Well guys, I have completed around 900km more or less successfully so far and presented the bike at the Hackaday Dublin Unconference last night (#HackadayUnconference). Alright, so how far are we yet? Is there already some link to the wiki? Can I help with writing articles of how to build / weld a battery even when it´s already finished? I will have plenty of time after June 2018 to spend on writing professional articles about that stuff I have learned in the past...

Re: Suzuki RF400E, now with Enertrac MHM602

I got a semi-cheap H4 LED headlight, fitting was a breeze - no tools required ;). US$ 7 on Banggood The light pattern is more than OK, there's a clear cutoff, no glare, just an area that's not lighted directly in front of the bike. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, will report if I ever ride outsi...

Check out some other builds on EV album: http://evalbum.com/type/MTCY.
And please, no lead. AESC / Nissan LEAF modules are plentiful, other OEM's might fit even better. 18650 if you have too much time on your hands ;).

I spent some time replacing the insert that's plugging the hole the filler cap left (with PP/"corruboard") and spent some time sanding/de-rusting the inner part of the tank:

[EU] Kelly/ZJW 200A/12V contactor & GEFRAN GS40A SSR

Both items are used, I got them with a set of which I used the controller, motor and cabling The contactor weighs about 700g, so I'd prefer shipping within the EU (€9.00, yes, that includes UK :)), but worldwide is only €12.25. Details can be found on the Kelly site . I'd like €30. The SSR weighs 20...
