I can confirm that with my own measurement.
Very interesting. Can you provide some graphs?

Re: Panasonic NCR18650GA disclosed specs, and 30Q Samsung cells

LG HG2 can be charged at 4A (continous) per 18650 cell and will last for many hundred cycles under that conditions. (datasheet performance, not my own experience)) If you use it within a reduced SOC window it will last for thousands of cycles. I can confirm that with my own measurement. 100% DoD cy...

Re: Panasonic NCR18650GA disclosed specs, and 30Q Samsung cells

This is why it's so hard for me to think of moving away from A123 batteries, which I have. I rely strongly on recuperation/regen, and rather powerful ones in the hilly terrain I live. A123 cells have no recuperation limits, no need for any sort of current limit (discharge or charge), and their life...

Re: Panasonic NCR18650GA disclosed specs, and 30Q Samsung cells

I wanted to find more detailed specs about those cells, but the official ones are very, very shallow. For example, it writes only "standard" charge rate at 0.5C, and I am interested in: 1. The maximum continuously allowed charge rate. 2. The maximum peak charge rate. (Regen peak currents) All(!) 35...

Re: Panasonic NCR18650GA disclosed specs, and 30Q Samsung cells

All(!) 3500mAh 18650 cells include Si in the anode, this seems to reduce cycle life significantly and especially reduces charge rates. Samsung updated their 35E datasheets from 0,5C charging to 1A max charging for cycle life. So imho(!) those 3500mAh are not a good idea for a system with recuperati...

Perform the same test after 300 cycles and you will be surprised with the results !

GA is excellent in the first 50-100 cycles but the internal resistance rises so quickly that even an old 18650PF beats it after that.

Re: The 3500mAh heavyweight division: Sanyo NCR18650GA vs Panasonic NCR18650GA vs LG MJ1 vs Samsung INR18650-35E

Heat basically leads to "faster chemical reaction" which increases the performance. -> less internal resistance, so less voltage drop and more Wh If you going to abuse your battery, it makes a lot of sense to warm it up (RC model pilots/drivers usually doing this with the LiPos for records and such ...

Re: The 3500mAh heavyweight division: Sanyo NCR18650GA vs Panasonic NCR18650GA vs LG MJ1 vs Samsung INR18650-35E

The heat generation and voltage sag are caused by the cell internal resistance (IR). You can choose two ways how to deal with this issue. You can use high power (HP) cells with low IR such as your mentioned Samsung 25R. Then you can operate at 3-5C average discharge current without significant effec...

I think heat is the problem for cycle life and sag. So is a 25amp cell better suited for higher amp ebike pack.. If I had a emoto for 40ah of battery. I see this. Always a balance and a compromise. Till we get the 5 volt cell.
