Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

If you found another good deal on 15's, there are some really, really good 245-15's these days, though they are mostly meant as AX and road race tires, not drag. Still, pretty sticky. For now I needed a rolling chassis. These seem usable for a while. I have a lot of other work to focus on. I will c...

Re: BRD RedShift electric motorcycles

I think everyone deserves an update to this major Fiasco. BRD which was later named Alta motors, was brought to buy out discussions with a number of folks. Harley Davidson purchased the IP package from Alta motors and their remaining stock is being liquidated currently through auction (happened alr...

Looking awesome, Arlo! 225/245 is a good starting compromise for sure, and way bigger than stock. What are you using for batteries? Keep up the good work, I'm excited to see your first AWD drive! If things go to plan 44kg of John Metrics cells they are 125c continious 250peak and will do a little o...

Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

Got some 16" rims for $100 for now... Guy thought they were 15" and swears he had a 15" tire on them I was like oh ok.... I will likely run 225 tires all the way around or 245 in the rear and 225 in the front. Once I have traction problems I will go biggger likely a 17" 275 or 315 in the rear. Or 15...

Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

So...325's? Drag only? I'd be really surprised if you had grip issues at even double your last hp with decent race rubber. Who said anything about stopping at 2x the power? Plan is to run more power at the rear then the front. I was pulling everything the battery could give when I finally had to re...

Any particular reason you want to run 17" rims vs 15 or 16"?
Size. It's hard to go wide with 15" and 16"
Although my slicks will likely be on 15" rims.

But for a good street tire they seem to offer wider tires as you go up in rim diameter.

Um yeah Telsas are just like any other car. This seems to be making the rounds on Twitter today... It's an entire truck car carrier of Tesla M3s that burned together. They are taking the burned shells and transporting them to another carrier truck. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/fire-gut...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Holy shit - the driver and his two kids escaped the car with what were effectively minor injuries! That is a very safe car. Yep. Even if teslas caught on fire every bit as often as gas cars (which they don't) - having them start burning sometime _after_ the crash is infinitely preferable for the sa...

Re: Tesla Model 3

There is no reason you can't make an electric car conversion look and behave like a normal car. It just depends on how much work you want to do and what your priorities are. Agreed. But it is a huge, and I mean huge, amount of work. If there are people out there who can afford to take six months of...

Re: how to program a sevcon gen4

Has anyone been able to control a sevcon gen4 with can messages? i.e. set throttle / brake / etc. via can messages as opposed to analog signals? if so, might I ask how? (i.e. what CAN ID, what message/payload, etc.?) Yup there is a way. On my dual controller setup I have 1 sevcon as the master and ...

You dont, just have to match wiring length and trust inductance and ptc to equalize the currents...
What if they don't share current properly?

Dont thjnk parallelling two output stages is a problem, but I would definitely use all 6 current sensors then ! You can add the current sensor outputs using resistors.
With 1 brain? How do you distinguish between current sensors?
