Re: ATX power supply

i disagree with mwkeefer. I use 4 of those ATX PC supplies for powering my chargers.

just ground the purple wire coming out of the PSU. and then you have a steady 12V

these supplies are super easy to use ! i always carry one with me on vacation by car for emergency power.

Re: 24s charging voltage

i also have a 24s setup 20ah. I use a lifepo4 charger set on 50.8V in series with a meanwell PSU at 50v So 100.8V is ok. i see the starting price is 94$ what do they mean by that ? is that a 1 unit price ? or do they change when you have a larger output voltage ? 600W is 6A charge max at 100.8V i li...

Cool. What a beauty Jeremy! a friend of us took us with his little boat (normal gasoline powered) for a trip. For me it was the first time. It looked so peacefull and quit on those little water creeks/canals. And when i saw your snapshots ....wow...must be very relaxing. Are you going to use some solar st...

Re: swicth (or RELAY) between BMS and controller

evrybody who wants to eliminate the spark from capacitor loads uses a resistor as pre charge. first switch the resistor and then the main switch. it's a bit a workaroun but effective. if you use the solid state relay you don't have any sparks or welded destructions. maybe this option is better for y...

Re: swicth (or RELAY) between BMS and controller

depends on how much amps you are pulling. you could use car relays which switches easily 48V/20A packs
or you could buy a solid state relay on ebay.these can handle 50A

MrKang, I must be a complete ditz. I didn't understand a word of what you said when you wrote"and then connected the TTL output from the CA into the input of the Data Logger." Would you mind making a step by step guide for just hooking up the CA to the Data Logger for me, and for any future ditz's ...

Re: Cycle Analyst / Logomatic software UPDATED!

Is there a guide on how to interface the CA with the Logomatic v2? I would like to be able to use the E-Data program also, but can't seem to find any instructions on how the CA hooks up to the Logomatic v2. TJG I descirbed it in here how i did the connection. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewto...

Hi Adam,

Try this program from OlderdanDirt

Works nice with data logged from the CA.

Re: help with my controller

As you can see on yur pictures. the PCB is really damaged...if you want to put new FET's in it they are not properly connected with your PCB traces cause of the burnouts..
The nowadays controller on Ebay easily can handle 40 or 50A max.
What's your voltage ? 36V ? 48V ?

Re: When is best to connect LiPo cells in parallel?

my experience was to first charge them full.
check it with the voltages with a cell balancer.
then first connect the balance taps and after that the main wires.

This will lower the chances of KFF while paralleling the balance leads.

What caps are you going to use for safe 150V operations ? and the 100nF C's between the phase lines ?

i also had a similar problem. it turned out that one string of cells were defective. that's why the BMS shuts down.
check all your cell voltages.
