Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

John,

I tried to Skype you, can't post info here but got no answer.

Give google voice a shot, free phone number and line with the PC makes Skype look like a rip off

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Well I've done it, taken my first successful (moderately) ride on my 2012.5 Downtube Nova using the new Bafang 750w 48v Bottom Bracket drive. For those of you who are impatient and want something interesting to look at, here are the details of my first ride (mostly, some forgetting to unpause) - the...

Alan,

Id like to order 2 of those PCBs if you still have them available for sale, shipping would be to 19086 EMS.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Signal lab 16 cell BMS for fewer cells?

Anyone know how cell voltage (HVC/LVC) is detected on a version 2.5 SignalLab BMS - I have a 14 channel LiFePo4 unit I would like to use with Lipo?

Any ideas would be helpful !

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Great insight Mike. I'm thinking if the std controller could take 12s LiPO and take sustained runs between 50-55kph with appropriate tyres, it'd make a sweet commuter where BB clearance isn't too critical. You would be better off going to 13S LiPo for 48.1 nominal. Depending on the size of tire, re...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

New? Tonight I'll go home and repair my eleven year old Aprilia Enjoy crank drive gearbox. Nothing new about that. The limit ended up being about 100Nm for an engineering group that makes superbikes. What makes sense about crank drives is using the machine's gearbox, just as for cars to get higher ...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

bose, I have not yet had a chance to check on the bottom bracket but presuming accurate specs of 117 RPM @ 48v and 80% efficiency the torque at the bottom bracket will be over 50 ft lbs (I`ve posted the calculations in the other 350/750w thread and don`t want to cross post). I am a bit concerned abo...

Re: PAS is faster than full throttle!

Just so I understand, you saying pas doesn't respect the speed limiter switch and so it goes faster than full throttle in Speed Limited Mode

OR

Your saying that in full assist mode, the bike goes faster than no speed limit full throttle when pedaling along?

For anyone interested I have 2 of these GNG 1000w 48v BB drives available - I paid the $400 or $380 asking price, then I paid for $125.00 or more for EMS Shipping to ensure no damage upon arrival. 1 of the units is brand new (v1) and has not been installed (so New in Boxes or New Old Stock), the sec...

Hey guys, I finally am moved (well that is to say my things are moved, but not unpacked yet) and it's taking me a while to get things up and running, my office / lab / work area is empty since the movers didn't mark the 45 medium boxes which are on a floor below me, let alone the 30+ small boxes and...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Just a note for users of the 48v version - I've successfully run it on 15S on the bench and under light loads, in the process of installing and can't determine the differential of power or speed until I get it into the bike and on the road to gather data but 15S lipo seems to work okay so I would fi...

Re: GNG BMX questions

The only thing I would suggest, is do the research to find the proper ISIS bottom bracket freewheeling which will support BMX style heavy or hard riding, otherwise I fear you will bend a shaft from the stock G&G bottom bracket - many off roaders have... otherwise it will make a fantastic setup but I...

Undo your rewire - try swapping yellow / blue and if that doesn't go smooth, use yellow green - phase and hall sensors, that should land you on success without 36 combination shuffle.

Re: 36v controller to 15S is it possible

Seriously... 15S lipo even fully charged is 63v, you shouldn't push em to 4.2v a cell 4.15 is much safer. Go to 16S and say goodbye to your 12V regulation rail (the resistor won't drop the in VCC low enough to be in the range of the LM317 causing it to fault and that is what provides not only 5v reg...

That is actually quite nice, full sus - frame mounted battery (it looks) - proper alignment, chain primary reduction.

And on that bike, very sweet!

I may be interested in duplicating your setup with my GNGv1 drive spare (right now), I'd like something I can run off-road.
