With that much torque on hand, even with the slipper clutches how the hell do you keep from throwing yourself off the damn 12KW bike?

Beautiful creation, INSANE... but beautiful!

Re: Another Charger Voltage Mod Question.

If one wanted a lower output voltage from a charger (say 54V instead of 59V), and the charger didn't have any pot to adjust, is it feasible to add a resistor or pot inline in the output cable of the charger to deliver the lower voltage to the battery pack? Anyone done this? Or is it just not a good...

Re: Bafang Q's???

Sure if you can specify size of bike, your weight, weight of bike. Some use for pedalec, sure... I don't ever use pedalec and as a BB drive its impossible to add a torque sensor which is the only type of pedalec I'd even consider, but that's me. Specify the info above and I'll figure your expected s...

Re: Anyone tried bikesuit for rain?

I actually use a body glove wetsuite and pack my clothes to get dressed at destination , blocks wind, prevents ouch from rain falling too quickly is largely water proof. I've used the rain gear suits before but they dont last for squat - Maybe some fishing gear or HD hazmat suits would work :)

Running from the cops on bicycles. Wonder if thats evading charge? They got no sirens, hearings bad! There is likely presidence supporting it, cops have eyes in the backs of their heads shouldn't we? Actually if they just claim it's an evading charge, the trick is loose them in straight aways, cut ...

duffman, I ride in norristown sometimes, not alot but sometimes... Cops there have better things to do then bother us. You should come down the city sometime, we can meet up at rittenhouse and get the bicycle cops to chase us - it's a blast man and htey havent a chance in hell of catching us :) -Mike

Re: Please weigh in: BBS02 750 with 12S 30A RC Controller?

It is claimed on here that the motor can handle 1250 W (50 V * 25 A) for several minutes without overheating, so 1330 W (44.4 V * 30 A) probably wouldn't be too stressful. I assume you're talking about LiPo, in which case the voltage is significantly higher than nominal early in the discharge, so k...

Please weigh in: BBS02 750 with 12S 30A RC Controller?

Hello all, Before going and doing something I'm sure to regret, I thought I should ask opinions here. I have located in an old drawer an RC controller with good heatsink and programmable delays and power levels and cutouts and such. I'm considering disconnecting the Lyen 6 FET sensored controller, l...

Let's take a simpler case - say I'm on a non-motorized skateboard and riding down the middle of the street. Police are going to kick my ass the curb, literally. Its their jurisdiction, their prerogative. Keep doing it and its jail. Because the roads are for traffic and they want to keep that moving...

Re: MUST READ - eBikes are LEGAL in the USA - Since HR727 8-

Bicycle is considered a vehilce. True. Vehicle, TRUE! Motor Vehicle, FALSE! The congress made the definition "Lightweight Electric Vehicle" and prohibited a state or local government explicitly from making the bicycles lower speed or power at their whim. This was to protect a basic minimum of safet...

Re: MUST READ - eBikes are LEGAL in the USA - Since HR727 8-

Its actually quite simple. The judge will state, you are not to operate a motor vehicle, for X amount of time. Here the window is 10 years, 1st=1yr, 2nd=3yrs, 3rd=5yrs, 4th=10yrs, 5th or death = Life. You kill someone or hurt someone, do not blow. So ignorance of law is no defence. You are found gu...

Did they 'confiscate' your bike as punishment, or did they tow and impound your bike with an option to pay fees and recover it? HR727 settled the question of whether the NHTSA or the CPSC have responsibility for safety regulation of that definition of device. State and Local laws determine rules of...

Wii Gyros are easy to play with in a way, you either need to wire them or bluetooth link them... wire leaves an issue and bluetooth requires bluetooth ttl adaption at base controller PCB... I've played with these a bit using Arduino Libraries I found online: http://playground.arduino.cc/Main/WiiChuc...

Were it me, I'd get a v4 Recumpence reduction and mount a minimum 3210 Astro Flight motor. That should do it fine, cute motors are not cute :)

Also hub motors make changing flats difficult.

Re: Gyro for controlled Wheelies

Hello all, I have a chicken scratch prototype as of now it only would work with DD rear hub drives as it uses eBraking to apply reverse torque or drag as needed to not flip a wheelie. This is only on the bench wired up to a 1/10th scale model for testing only. The trick is two accellerometers and a ...

Anti Wheelie / Controlled Wheelie + On and Off Road BlackBox

Hello All, I have over and over again seen people requesting a simple method of adding a "legal" mode in their jurisdictions while still having offroad mode. They can if run in too low a gear for too much load, but you notice this as bogging and downshift if I understand your question properly?
