Has anyone had any luck programming their BBS-xx with a MacBook? Or should I just go out and buy a cheap Windows laptop?
thanks,
Savvas.
I have Windows 7x64 installed via BootCamp but VirtualBox is just as good for our purposes.

you can adjust the bbs-02 low voltage cutout with custom settings, download the bbs02 settings app and look through the options available.

Re: Power calculations, could someone check my work please?

teklektik, Thanks for taking the time. My factors were all estimates and my frontal area was in theory that crouched over at 6'1" I present about 4' x 2' (a bit less since I'm not sponge bob)... Rolling resistance was based on measurements taken during testing by someone fairly recently for 20" whee...

Power calculations, could someone check my work please?

Hello all, I've been attempting to calculate the power requirement for a 20" bicycle to sustain 40 mph and I'm wondering if I missed something? [Calculated HP Requirement] Vehicle Weight: 245 lbs maximum loaded weight Frontal Area: 8 sq feet Drag Coefficient: .3 Air Resistance: 9.83 lbs of air resis...

Re: Help find a >=25A continuous battery for Bafang BBS02 75

Hello, I read your thread and just wanted to make you aware of something... I have and run a BBS02 with external controller but did about 3K with internal and on a calibrated CA peak for a second or less was 25A but it quickly dropped down to about 20A continuous. I successfully ran a simple 48v 13...

Hello, I've got to agree with Chalo on this one, I would rather walk in the rain than ride one of those Moped style Green Machines! That said... I agree purists hate eBikes because there is no need to Pedal but I don't think it's just because or even partly because they dislike pedaling... I'm leani...

Re: KONA Entourage Build Thread - middrive (pic heavy)

Nevermind.... I see now :) hehe. i wish i REALLY knew what it is. it definately comes from the freewheel. but i can't say if it's the planet gears or the sun gear causing the noise. Honestly it sounds like a bearing or bent axle but I see you've tested for this already... Perhaps run it noisy for a...

Bafang BBS-0X to Ed Lyen controller Wiring

Hello all, I've noted several people looking to hook up an external Lyen type controller to their Bafang BBS0X mid drives and wondering about color, proper controller, etc so I thought I would post the color combinations and later some images of actual connections to the Bafang BBS02 I ride on my No...

Re: kona entourage mid drive

the motor conversion is now done. though i'm not 100% satified. the is some vibration when the axle turns. and e-motors normally run w/o any vibration at all. so there most be some bearings not sitting perfectly or something rubbing inside. will be hard to find out. here is a short video of the mot...

Re: Gyro for controlled Wheelies

Hello All, Now this is only 1/2 of the equation when working with a eBike application because we are able to link input from hall throttle to arduino and then output proper voltages (ramped) to feed back into the controller hall inputs, RC type PPM is easier to output actually but only works in RC c...

Re: Gyro for controlled Wheelies

BMW does it on their 200 HP motorcycles. They also have sensors for braking, lean angle, and traction control that affect the suspension rates. Such sensors would be great for front wheel drive on ebikes. such an anti skid implementation would be quite simple: a speed sensor on the front wheel, one...

Matt, This is absolutely SICK !!! Beginning with a Hooligan and hacking the frame and parts you've made what looks more like my sport bike without fairings (or better). So your done now right, finished the build up? JK Can't wait to see the final product! One question... is that a v5 eDrive ? -Mike

Re: Ebikeling "wide" 1500w kit

Nep, at 88% efficient the motor at 50v in a 26" should deliver 36.77142857142857 mph loaded.
If it doesn't meet and sustain this speed then efficiency is lower than claimed... Even at 80% the motor should provide 33.42857142857143 mph loaded at 50v.

Hope that helps someone,
Mike

Dave, What your referring to is a parameter which you can program in the BBS02 controller, it's the delay time in ms between when it stops receiving PAS pulses and when it drops throttle... if memory serves there is also a power percentage too. I've experimented with a solution on an 8 speed twist s...

Yes and thank you I think that was the one, I attempted to just scrape / peel but to really poor results- maybe a heat gun will make better results... I had hoped it was a chemical emulsificatoin but thanks again for the pointer I'd been searching for 2 days before asking :)
