Re: Laptop power supplies as chargers..

The dell 3r160 are good for 8 amps, and you can vary the volts from 3.6 to 12 volts by installing a poteniometer, so no need for a meanwell. Had 6 units shipped to my door for $30.00 + 3 that i found in the trash. There are 6 wires on the output side, (red and brown, are +) (black and white, are -) ...

Re: Laptop power supplies as chargers..

I have had good result using Del 3r160 supplies for the old dell optiplex compact desk tops. Been using them for about a year, 4 series to charge a 36 volt pack. seems they may work well 9 in series for 100 volts. You must cut the ground on all except for one, and all must be powered up at the same ...

Re: Denver?

I had great chat with Zap on the phone and agree a time and place to meet would be great. I realize this a tough call due to peoples various schedules and location. Any PM's with people interested should be carbon copy, so all can get on the same page as to scheduling etc. I am flexible as far time ...

Top charge

I have read many time's that lithium batteries last longer if kept between LVC and HVC. I prefer to keep the batteries fully charged and ready to roll, however at time's my bike sits with a full charge for a week or so before use. batterys in use are 38120 headways, so far they seem OK The question ...

Re: 2000W MAC lawnmower motor

The one thing that keeps coming to mind is that motor delivered to neptronics, looks different, than the one's originally advertised on the sites, that he had discovered. The sites show finned mounting plates and cover. The motors delivered, have flat steel mounting plate and no fins. Magudaman ment...

Re: Ariens 1.7 HP Lawnmower Motor = 4" Transmag 48V

Ive been sitting on the fence with this motor, just waiting to see how the 2000 watt MAC pans out.

To make live easy, adapting a blade or sprocket I suggest buying the adaptor as well, could save on machining cost.

Re: Denver?

Seems there's quite a few folks in Colorado that are into this endeaver. I would also like to meet and see people that are into this.

So far it's all been cyber space, and the folks that have seen my bike think it new and weird and the ones who try it like it.

So a meet would be Cool.

Re: 2000W MAC lawnmower motor

If the MAC motors are priced cheap, and someone could duplicate the heat path that the BMC motor has, perhaps it could work. However that's probably a tall order even for guys that have machining ability and a shop. So it's back to the superkids store at $400.00 a clip !! The work done here in this ...

Re: 20-30A Travel Charger Help

Pretty certain that diodes are required for paralleling charger's and P S U 's. Info from and older tread, but it all made sense at the time.

The diodes steer all power to the batteries and prevent power, going back and forth between charger/P S U 's due to inherent output difference's .

Re: pulse width modulation in controllers

I run a brushed set up, with an ebay controller, its never hot and find that my motor often runs hotter at partial throttle, than full throttle. Why? one would think the motor would run cooler with less load. The controller runs at 4.6 kilohertz is that it ?

Re: The Brushless plunge

Hey all here! I just ordered up a kelly controller, model kbs72121 . Good for 24 to 72 volts at 50 amps continuous. 120 amp for 10 second peaks.

Excited can't, wait to get the rest of pieces, for this moped urban cruiser. Opinions and critics welcome please.
