Re: How to discharge/balance cells using discrete components

I have had some success with a lm317 voltage regulator and a 3.6 volt zener. I used a 3.6 zener in place of R2 and set voltage with R1, about 270 ohms. The power must be limited to 1.5 amps with a shunt. I balanced my pack several time's one cell at a time, just a test. The circuit delivered the ful...

Re: 2000 to 3000 watt motor

Just bought a used mars motor, model me0201013201 for $270 shipped. The seller tells me that the motor was from a rejected lot, due to poor packaging. The motor looks fine and unused, no scaring on terminals and key ways etc. . More than i need for my vintage moped conversion, perhaps to much! Slowl...

Re: How much fun is 1kW?

Judging from your post I am assuming, a non hub drive on a bicycle, with a typical brushed motor from somewhere ?? If this is a true 1 kilowatt rating, you will be quite happy. Your not going to see jessus any time soon, but it will be fun if geared right. All I know is that my meager lawnmower moto...

Yesterday arrived 72v 1500w ebike controller. I connected it and it worked great motor spun over 9000rpm when rear wheel was in the air. Cannot tell you the current because my ammeter didn't work anymore. Battery voltage was 50V. Then I rode with scooter and it went almost 40km/h. First test ride y...

Re: Car cooling fan bldc motor

This is interesting, if this motor is truly good for 850 watts at 12 volts. I would think 3400 watts at 48 volts, with gearing (volt up and gear down theory) could work.

Would like to know the final gear ratios and the tire size.

learning by the seat of my pants.

2000 to 3000 watt motor

Been searching for an off the shelf 2000 to 3000 watt motor suitable, for a non hub build, that is less than 1 kilo, or 20 lbs. All the searches i have done lead me to, 800 watts, and than jump to 5000 watts and up, with nothing in between. Would like to stay under 1 kilo. Thanks! again with more ??...

A great turnout at sonic, really enjoyed hanging out with like minded people. It was good to leave the E.S. nest and see and talk with real E.V. people !!

WOW WE!! E.V. people really do exist!

Looking forward to future meets.

Re: tumbling aluminum?

A shop that I worked for, use to add a citrus base cleaner to the water in the tumbler, I believe it was called fast orange.

However I don't remember adding anything else, like the floculent mentioned. The parts pulled from tumbler aways came clean.

Try it and see what happens

Good luck

ME1016 PM Generator

I found this http://www.motenergy.com/mepmge.html Its a 3 phase generator for $150, it claims 1000 watts at 12 volts up to 3000 watts at 36 volts. So I am wondering if this could be turned in to a brushless motor, by adding hall sensors, or would this more trouble than it worth. Thanks in advance
