Re: New 80 volt push mowers
Heads up, Amazon has the blower for $73 now. I ordered one. I just figured out how to fool the mower controller without draining the stock battery. Connect your 20s battery to pos(left) and neg(right) when looking into battery compartment of mower. Connect communication tab of stock battery to middl...

Re: Triple chainrings: a flawed concept/design?
For a properly maintained drivetrain, it takes only a fraction of a pedal strokes time to shift to a smaller chainring. You ease up only for as long as needed. But the heart of the matter is that you really should be planning ahead and getting into the small ring before you need to use it, when you ...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
I would guess it is 5-6lbs. The controller is what makes the mower so efficient. It senses thicker grass and ups the rpms/amps. The 120v motor with brushes is 12lbs and pulls over 4kw on startup. I bought two and if I don't use both for mowing, I may put it on a bike. $31 for 4kw peak? I know everyo...

Dual suspension frame, needs work (USA)
This is a KHS frame with great front triangle space. It still has the metal battery mount and rear torque arms. The problem is that it needs new bushings , hardware at the pivot near the rear brake and bottom bracket. It's rim brake only, no disc brake mount. 26" wheels, 20" frame, 1 1/8&q...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
I believe it's designed for a max of 2800rpm with 80volts. It may be useful for a <1000w mid drive. It's not that big, so I wouldn't expect a lot of power from it.
It has the 3 phase wires and a hall sensor set of wires.

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
I just tested with my 24s lifepo4 battery hooked up to pos and negative. Starts up but shuts down and beeps. So you need to figure out what that com wire is sending. I'm thinking I can use the stock battery for the com signal and only hook up my battery. I'm going to by the trimmer package with 2ah ...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
Yes, I took mine apart tonight. Had to remove the 4 bolts holding the motor assembly to the deck. Yellow wire is COM. I have a feeling I'll need to get a battery to parallel with mine. Tomorrow I can try and see if it starts with just battery positive and neg connected. Metallover - I may do the sam...

How do you get the plastic casing off the mower motor/battery compartment? I found some screws on top but the bottom is firmly held.

Re: Lawnmowing: manual and electric powered
Well after a half hour of whaling on the shaft using a 5lb sledge hammer and a square pipe bolted into the shaft end, I got it. I didn't think it was working, but it runs smooth again. Such a wonderful thing.
Earlier today I ran my 120v motor on 105v of battery. Worked well.

Re: Lawnmowing: manual and electric powered
I have a 80v greenworks coming without battery/charger. Hopefully I can get my own battery to run it. The shaft hub seems to not rotate evenly, so I'm pretty certain it's the shaft. I will try hitting it back. I picked up a 36v black n Decker which is what I've been using most of the time. It just c...

Re: Kawasaki KE100 conversion
I just used a 1/4" plate of steel to attach it to the swingarm. I may have used a couple washers to help align the chain. The whole swingarm is flipped over too. It's not easy, but it's been working for about 4000 miles so far. I feel road bumps a little more, but not a deal breaker. The motor ...

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
Good info, thanks. it looks like someone bought the $209 Amazon deal for the bare tool. I just checked again and now it's 189, though back ordered a couple days supposedly. So i pulled the trigger and bought it at that price. I really want the automatic speed adjustment to maximize efficiency, but w...

Re: Kawasaki KE100 conversion
My ebicycle fairing which is in my ebike builds thread, also had a noticeable reduction on consumption. On windy days of over 20mph, random side gusts did push me around a little. A lighter bike is more affected, so putting weight inside the fairing helped.

Re: New 80 volt push mowers
Warren, would you be able to get the part number of the motor on your new mower? I want to see if I can buy just the motor from ordertree. I bought a couple 120v brushed motors but would prefer the 80v brushless. It's probably a long shot but worth a try. I just need the part number. Thanks! After r...

Re: Kawasaki KE100 conversion
HI Warren, I am currently using 9 modules (18s). I had 10, but took one off for my wifes scooter to boost her Chevy Volt 12s pack up to 14s so she has better top speed. I've been thinking about taking apart this pack and using it for my lawn mowing business. 55ah modules don't work too well for that...

Re: Lawnmowing: manual and electric powered
After 97 lawns since the spring, I think I bent the motor shaft yesterday when I hit some concrete chunks hidden under the leafy ground cover. The mower vibrates now. I took the blade off tonight and it is straight. Is there any hope of hitting it back to correct this? I think it would work okay as ...

Re: Lawnmowing: manual and electric powered
The vacuum needed makes sense. Today i got a 36v self propelled black n decker mower for real cheap on Craigslist. From the factory as a consumer unit. How would it not kill itself if there is no BMS with consumers drawing it down all the way?
