Re: Best place to buy a BBHSD
I'm convinced that an external controller is way better than anything bafang cram's inside.

Re: Seriously considering a Spark EV used for about $10k.
I bought the 2016 Chevy Spark LT2 last year. I paid $8,000 plus tax came to about $9000. The LT2 is the one with leather-like interior. The LT1 is cloth. I have never been happier with a car purchase in my life. It comes with a charger for level 1 charging (110 outlet) takes about 10 hrs to fully c...

the significantly better heat transfer thru the longitudinal axis of the cell which finally allows "bottom cooling/heating" Perhaps Tesla will actively cool only the tops and bottoms of these 4680 cells? Don't forget they also announced that the new battery format will be structural as we...

Seriously considering a Spark EV used for about $10k.
I am seriously considering buying a used Spark EV as I mostly drive to and from the nearest town about 13 miles away. I could also use it to deliver wine within 30 miles from another plus. What about fixing and or modifications after the battery pack eventually goes. I know I will put miles on it as...

Re: Is regenerative braking really worth anything?
I used regen on a front wheel cruiser bike for about a year until my wheel flew off and laid me on my ass.. LOL That was my fault for being lazy and not tightening the torque arms (there wasn't one). However, I would love to integrate it into my next build again someday down the road, because it was...

Re: Which drive train gives the optimum performance (freewheel sprocket, IGH or cassette)?
Hi, I have been using freewheel 7-sprocket for many years. It is only recently that I've encountered IGH and was shocked to see how horrible its performance was in comparison to a freewheel hub. The drag was very real and could be felt easily. I could rotate the freewheel sprockets of the wheel eas...

Re: Why I'm pulling my Bafang BBS02
Enviolo too heavy and also overgeared; That’s funny coming from an e-bike guy. Both because what does it matter, and because of all the weight we intentionally add to our bikes. As a very big guy, I’ve never been overly concerned about bike weight, but only about whether the weight is doing somethi...

Re: Why I'm pulling my Bafang BBS02
I've been running a BBS02 for 2 years now without ANY troubles. Key is to stay at it designed power levels (I rarely push over 800W) and to use an IGH which basically solves all chain/gear related problems. Only major problem I have is BB squeeching noises every now and than since there is just too...

Re: Batteries - a better approach?
I've seen several examples of 3D-printing a mount and using several cordless tool packs, works well. For simplicity, I like the EGO 14S packs, which are labeled 56V but we call them 52V. They have 7.5-Ah packs, and are coming out with 11-Ah packs soon for their chainsaws and other large equipment. ...

Re: Milwaukee M18 conversions
Awesome! This is what I would like to achieve using greenworks 40v batteries, but I do more lawn work than drilling and sawing... My ryobi 18v system is cheap and good for what I use them for, but want to move on to better tool systems.
