Re: HELP!! Tried to connect battery and it sparks

Even if they say it was totally normal, i would still invest in a pre-charge solution to increase the lifespan of your controller.
The constant inrush of current/voltage will eventually damage it.

Re: HELP!! Tried to connect battery and it sparks

This is my pre-charge resistor, I can connect 72v batteries without spark. It is full proof and easy to make. http://vision-m.com/img/es/pre-charge2.jpg http://vision-m.com/img/es/pre-charge1.jpg My inspiration is made by a guy named joseph. http://vision-m.com/img/es/joseph.jpg If you don't want to...

Get a back up ebike, even if it is not a Qulbix. I have 3 of them and now can guarantee I get my e-fix no matter what.

Re: Pre Charge Resistor Very Hot When Hooked Up

In general I know IceCube makes products that work. I think it is either user error or there is a bad connection caused from wear and tear of the Pre Charge Resistor dongle. How long have you had the Pre Charge Resistor dongle? Can you describe the process you take to connect your battery to your co...

+1, It is dangerous to not pay attention to your surroundings when traveling at high speeds on a bike.

Re: 48-72 volt controller

You can get the programing bundle option on the lyen controller and program it yourself. The only way to program then on the fly would be to use a cycle analyst from ebike.ca. If that is the case you might as well get the whole package there instead. keep in mind your asking for options that add to ...

Re: 48-72 volt controller

9 FET 72V Infineon Brushless Controller from lyen for $89 will work and you can ask lyen to tune it down to 30amps so it does not kill your 48v battery.

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

As long as you use proper gauge wire, it is no problem. Well, I disagree. Using thicker wire will not help. It's not a resistance problem, it's an inductance problem. The damage happens gradually over time. Here's a good reference with explanations: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9...

Re: New Bafang Crank-drives

Instead of using the included throttle lever I decided to do something else. I managed to lure two thin wires under the bar tape by soldering the ends to a stiff brass wire and pulling it through. Then I soldered a 12,5 kOhm resistor in series with a microswitch and connected it to the 5V and throt...

Re: Noob Help please Q100H Motor

500w kits are too powerful for bottle batteries, you will have massive voltage sag and the battery will die an early death. An em3ev battery will be better suited for 500w geared motor like the infamous Bafang BPM2.
